does not ask for activation

the subject says it all.
i downloaded the game through steam and starting playing (it showed med the cd key in a clip board) but it did not ask me to put it in anywahere 
the game runs perfectly and in case you were wondering, yes i did get above 8 level cap (as i said i downloaded the game and not the demo)

could the reason be that i am not playing multiplayer? it says i have to use the key to play multiplayer and so far i have only played the Native module.

Welcome to the Forums!

Multiplayer is coming in the up-coming expansion pack. If you managed to get over lvl 10, you almost certainly have the main game. Enjoy playing M&B and download a mod or two!

okay thanks for clearing that up 

i will certainly start to look around for some mod's.

although, when i tried looking for some answers some people wrote that they had to put in their CD.key to even play the game.
so how is it i dont have to? i really want to know so something unexpected doesnt come and bite me in the ass

also: does any mod's come with multiplayer function?

If you've already activated it once you won't need to again, unless you wipe the registry.

uhmm... no offense but did you even read the headline? let alone the above post's? also didnt my question.

as i said i have never actually activated the game (by activated i mean by putting in my CD-key... somewhere)

i just bought it on steam, downloaded it and started playing right away (it has yet to ask for an activation)

Steam is automatic and you may or may not need to activate a game through them. You may not even know that you activated it because I didn't when I was clicking through the startup. But don't get uptight with the Dev's... you asked for help and didn't get all that detailed in your post anyway. He was making a point assuming that you must have already activated it (whether knowing it or not). Because you shouldn't be able to play it without doing that.

hmm.. okay thx. you may be right about steam being automatic (still kinda bugs me though) and for the future ill try to be as clear as i can when posting
