Does lance to head = instant kill?

hmm ive always found that when im riding horse my sword seems to do more damage when i hit people on their head. maybe because if i hit a bit lower part of the damage goes to horse? armagan?

Melee hits to head do slightly more damage as melee hits to legs do slightly less. But the bonus is much more fore ranged weapons.

I see. Thus there's actually a point to chops vs swings then.

Too bad. It would be cool to charge an opposing horseman and kill him with a perfectly aimed lance.

With the triple adamge for couched lance hit, the increases in damage for a head hit becomes more significant. And that hurts. A lot.

Does the impact point still follow your mouse?

Apparently not. The only aiming I've been able to do is by moving the horse. That's probably why my attempts to skewer their heads was a failure.

you can aim up and down with youre mouse

and the sides with the horse

i think dont beat me if i'm wrong

the mouse has NOTHING to do with the aiming point.

When the horse gets enough speed the lance comes down on the right side of your horse... the tip of that lance(sometimes ive gotten guys with the side of the lance too... dunno if its a bug) has to hit the person. you could be looking behind you and still kill a guy.

This makes it easier for me in FPV to fight and see whats around me.

Yeah, Ferox is right, no aiming with the couched lance.
And normally when connecting a couched lance damage, its allways a one hit kill. At least has been for me so far.

I just love to charge into a mob of enemies with my charger and couched lance, killing one or two peeps, then pulling out my two hander and just start doing runs through the mob swinging away.

Normally a couple of corpses line my way through! :)
