Does it worry you?

Does it worry you at all, when you ask a king or count for a quest, and they tell you you need their help equipping a new company of troops they're raising? The first time I got such a quest, it didn't seem like such a cause for worry. 6 boar spears. You can do a fair bit with a spear, and I suppose one could see why, at least momentarily, the king's armory was understocked. But since then, I've played this quest a few more times, and I cringe when I hear what they're planning to send these soldiers out into the field with. 3 leather aprons? 6 sickles? I don't know what's worse, that the Vaegirs are trying to win the war by "unleashing" this stuff on the Swadians, or that they couldn't scrounge it up themselves. Probably the first, but it's also pretty sobering that they're too lazy to even try hitting up their own smithys. I completed the apron quest without even leaving Rivacheg!

Yes, it seems like a group of 5 guys with leather armour, sumpter horses and sickles aren't going to be very good against even a medium sized group of river pirates.

I have been given the sickle quest but can't find any... there's plenty of scythes though, aren't they the same thing?

Yes, it does. When I finally joined the Swadians and received my first quest I noticed this as well.

I also think they make for poor quests. Personally, I don't like them, both for the reason you mentioned and because they seem tedious fetching more items. I prefer the 'kill vaegir/swadian raiders' and 'assassinate the noble' type quests you get. Those 3 types are the only ones I have received so far.
