Is it based on your level? Your clan level? The amount of time that's passed? I've made like 3 smithing workshops and waited months but there's still no good armor in any city. And all I get for loot is straight garbage, no matter how many enemy lords I beat. This system is so flawed. This is why the item prefixes from warband need to come back; so you could get the armor you wanted, but there was always a slightly better costing an absurd amount that gave you something to work towards.

Never (I've been playing for more than 100 hours). They say you have to open a blacksmith store to have them ... it's absurd. In looting you will never get any, and in the cities, neither. But it is enough to kill 15 parties of looters, so that your seargent crosbowman will have a max level lamellar armor, as if by magic.

I think, based on the fact that workshops have levels but no way to level right now, the plan is to have better smithies produce higher tier products, but in the meantime if you need high tier armor marry and noble and steal their gear.
Most of the noble women have best in slot by default. Tier 6 armor. I married one of the Noble women in batania. Awynn or something. Her crown alone was worth 120k gold. Talk about being a gold digger lol. First thing I did was strip her of all the gear

As it currently stands, there's some correlation in price with loot drop rarity. I have once got an imperial lord's helmet from combat, and I think that's the most expensive drop I ever got. In general, the math on a lot of features are currently either in "testing" or way off. Absurd pricing is creating Korean-MMO drop rates for half-decent loot overall.

I dont think good armor even really exists. There is a single piece of valadian chainmail that gives 35 protection and costs about 70k i think - not much else comes close to it.
Empire armour seems to be the best you can get which really annoys me since I would like to keep valadian and I would also like some asthetic choice - rather than being forced to wear only 1 set if i want the good protection.
AAnd if im honest, im not really loving the period its set in anyway

I didnt carry much becouse i play small girl who wears a wolf skin and big 2h Axe. But i want my husband be protected XD

Even if you get some armor ...I guess one thing I think this game lacks is armor sets...lamellar armor if I buying I need helm gloves ..shoulders everything,Either all these is very difficult to get or not their for some armors at all...what kind of king am I if I conquered half the settlements but I am wearing mismatch scrapped armor
I don't know if good armor even exists in the beta branch anymore. Best body armor i've seen is like 34 and best helmet like 30. But then again i'm sick of checking the shops because all the items are in one shop instead of separate weapon and armor shops in warband. Doesn't make any sense to me.
If you visit the city on foot there are seperate weaponsmith and armorer I dont know why they didn't give it in the settlement menu

Marriage is the best way to get a good gear right now
That is my husband. His stats are garbage, but gear is pretty cool. BTW never seen that horse with 300 HP
