IMO one of the major things that helps make this game immersive is the first person view. I'll tell you when im riding around on my horse lancing guys it just feels so real :P.

Even when I get on the ground to do some hand to hand its First person all the way. I am happy they made such an intuitive and fluid FPV.

Hey, stranger. :) I play in FPV at all times.

I find FPV alot more fun, as well as useful for landing my damage exactly where I want to land it.

whats up wonderbrick, good to see ya.

hehe I cant do lance and bow work in tpv... hell I think I do better with everything in FPV.

aye... first person all the way... unless i want to get a cool angle going on for a particular shot.

otherwise its always first person.

I cant play in first person...I get paranoid about "That guy just off the screen who is about to hit me with something sharp."

I tried the FPV for a short bit, but I just can't do it. Things just look more "cool" in third person. Not as immersive, but there's a bit more style to the slaughter.

I switch from third and first person view depending on my mood... but i *do* notice that my results are better in third person view.

I tend to prefer third-person view in games. In real life you have peripheral vision and are aware of the positioning of your own body in relation to what you see.

In a game, in first-person mode you're limited to a 90 degree cone straight forward. Immersive as that may be sometimes, it really doesn't give you anywhere near the level of information that you'd have in reality.

I tend to use FPV for shooting my bow, and 3rd for melee.

I find it easier to time by hits from my horse in 3rd person.
(I like to plow thru 10 enemies with my charger swing my axe miniacly.

Hmm, I do hate throwing javelins/jarids in 1st person.

Hey Armagan:
The left/shield arm sits right in the middle of the crosshairs, impossible to see what you're aiming at. Throwing axes and knives are fine.

(sorry to post this in 2 different forums  )

As the poster above notes, it can be difficult to use missiles while in FPV. My character's shield blocks the aiming reticle, especially when looking down. I also have trouble using the lance, as my horse's head is often in the way of the reticle.

Easy solution: play in third person. :D

I love third person for games of this sort anyway, as my immersion is largely affected by my ability to visualize my character and his actions. That's easier to do when I can see him.

My thanks go to the devs for allowing both views.

so you would rather have the ability to see a wide way all around your char?:P

seems a lot more unrealistic then not having a "full eyesight view" in first person. I do quite well fighting in melee with FPV, you just have to know how to be in a battle hehe.

For instance if im fighting and get surrounded, I break out my shield and keep it up , blocking attacks as I try to get away.

I dislike the fpv. It's the whole peripheral vision thing. In first person, it's like you've got a horrible case of tunnel vision. Third person alleviates that a bit.

I have only had problems using FPV after doing a charge on a group... and perhaps missing or getting stopped on a guy, then I am unsure as to where the remainders are and panic for a quick second thinking they are all convering on my rear.

Usually only happens once in awhile, but realisticaly that is what would have happened

hahaha, I dunno maybe its because i do the medieval fighting irl that I dont panic in battles like that.

hell theres no third person view in real life, I just turn my head like I can in the game, and with a helm on you cant see everywhere anyways.

thats probably why im so comfortable with it.

I REQUIRE PERIPHRIAL VISION AT ALL TIMES BLARGHLBLRAR!

It's true. I'm a FPV'er all the way when it comes to shooting games, where I can keep my enemies at a good ranged distance, but big melee combat requires that I see to my sides (IRL, I have awesome 'corner of the eye' vision. It freaks people out).

first person is alrite for riding down yr enemies on a horsebut with swords  i cant it doesnt feel right espically playing on a laptop
