Don't know why its called "Clan" when it should be called "House" or "Dynasty" or "Family", this isn't Japan inspired setting. It's 100% because of turkish translation and not really knowing the difference between group/clan/dynasty so i don't blame them.

You know they have a native English-speaker as the writer, right?

Anyway, clan works for at least three factions. It isn't a huge deal either way and I agree they could change the name depending on faction.

there is to little to make when having a clan,
I want to have more to it like
- My own hall to manage when having a clan (upgrading hall - means more members and more bonuses)
- My own troops types (that i can set their gear for different tiers, also paying for having better troops)
- My own stash in clan hall
- My own clan castle that i can choose where to build (starting from a small then progressing to a bigger one) (like give me a village to start and progress to a castle/city etc)
- Declaring clan wars
- More clan rewards (not only party limtit and companion limit.)
- Recruiting people to clan castle (like builders, guards , smiths ,traders)
- More roles to assign (Steward , Smith , Rogue master ,Trader , SilverTongue(charm) ,

I would really like them to improve the clans system to make it more of an entity. So you could wage war against just another clan and not the whole group. Like you hate another clan in the same kingdom as you, then you should be able to wage war against them to take over their castles or villages.

That is an awesome idea i'm sure TW will completely ignore.

I don't like how everything is tied to the clan system. Once you become friends with one person in a clan, you become friends with everyone in that clan, regardless of personalities or traits, etc. and vice versa. It takes away the individualism that Warband brought to the table. I also don't like how settlements and castles are given to the clan, instead of individual members of that clan. So if I want one person owning and guarding one city, it's impossible.

Amen.

Will someone at TW at least pretend to look into this? They don't even have to confirm anything, just admit that community feedback is so far superior to what they have given us.

Agreed. This is why I called the clan system lazy. It looks like a lot, but really its just a single NPC entity for the player to interact with. They don't have to worry bout relations with each lord, just the clan.

Which I guess is indicative of Bannerlord in general: looks great, sound great, literally nothing under the hood.

I just feel like there are more possibilities with a deeper clan system. Say there is a big city with two small castles near by, and I want to give the big city to the head honcho of a specific clan. But I also want to give the two castles to lesser known members with wives/children/etc. so that clan can expand.

At this point they all "share" whatever I give them, and it doesn't make sense sometimes.

More mechanics relating to clans would be nice, but I definitely don't care for the idea of things like inter-clan politics. At worst, if your companions or whoever dislikes you, they should be able to leave? But "taking over" the clan seems awful; and doesn't make sense with the way the clan shares a single wallet.

It's basically a representation of a single controlling individual, their spouse, their children, and their companions. The current complexity level is good as-is.Children splitting off into their own clans (when they're not marrying into others) as adults is the only thing it really needs in terms of family dynamics.

Yeah that is bad design. If you give someone a sword it increases relation with the clan and nothing for the person. That is an F in immersion.

The usage of the word "clan" could easily be something Armagan or another of the Turkish higher-ups decided on. Just because someone is a writer doesn't mean they don't get instructed like everyone else.
It could be, but I seriously doubt it was an issue of translating between Turkish and English, like the other post implied. Especially since it fits fine for three or four of the factions.

To be fair, if they call it clan or whatever isn´t a real mayor issue, at least not for me. But you´re still right of course.

I like the clan system yes.

I think what we have is a basic implementation and there is a lot of potential for improvement.

A number of folks have made some good suggestions and it will be interesting to see how it develops.
