It seems the overwhelming majority of the community has lost trust in TW.

Whether it's the lackluster or non existent community engagement, snails pace content upgrades/updates, or overall apathy towards their product and fan base, I'm just curious if we still have faith in TW as a company or developer?

This is why people are going stir-crazy. If they take a year to release a major patch, so what (assuming it's actually large like 1.2). But at least tell us what's going on! Not when a new patch will come out or even the specific mechanics of how it would work, but what is being developed.

Based on what they've said in the past, I can only imagine 1.3 is going to be the imperial throne/pretender mechanics. Even just acknowledging as much, would be a huge improvement over what we've got now. Obviously, there are a variety of opinions on what else is wrong with the game: lack of diplomacy, unfinished mechanics (...workshops), lack of unit diversity, etc. But just something to let us know what they're focusing on would go a long way in pacifying the mob.

I've put many, many hours into this game and do not regret buying it at all. It's just that I've lost interest due to TW's blaring silence. Hopefully that changes, but unlikely.

Their consisten lack of communication have made me loose faith in them.

Then you have as others point overselling the product as it is.
Take it this way you where promised a Porsche but got a solid VW, and you know that down the line maybe they will deliver the Porsche for you with upgrades, but in the meantime you are still sitting there in the VW.

Atleast for those of us on PC we got mods to fix various thing(like for instance how Valor cant be earned due to an error by the devs, the way its calculated etc), workshops issues, and other stuff on a long list.

I get it that this company is one of those who dont give dates etc, because they feel that its misleading if they dont deliver on the dates or that they know alot of people will be upset.
But again most common sense people will be more forgiveing when they get a rough date(like Q4 2025) and when it is a few months away, they get a message telling us that there is a technical issue which means it will be delayed.
Sure you get bit bummed out there and then, but not knowing anything and just waiting in limbo dont feel great and you get aggrivated by it(I just dont focus on it tbh, I just play other games I enjoy more, or play it with the mods, but I still pity the fools who got it on console).

Tbh I've said it before the way they oversold it the features, and how long its been since the game was officially launched to retail - thats kind of fraudluent imo.

it hardly feels like taleworlds has faith in itself, one of the most unpassionate and unambitious studios i've had the displeasure of witnessing. had such a devoted and patient community (still do), only to develop the most uninspiring content additions to the game, the bare minimum even- and call it a day.

even with the eventual release of v1.3 and (possibly) other updates, the game is so far gone in direction and vision that its hardly salvageable, barring an entire overhaul of the mechanics and foundation.

we're never getting the features we really wanted (actual role-playing aspect, with immersive characters and narrative depth), its purely a soulless battle simulator game with negligible systems that will keep scratching the itch we want, but never really leave us satisfied.

Yep, at this point, the only remaining 'decent' thing TW can do is just get this 1.3 patch out; regardless what's in it or what bugs it introduces, and just end the development of this ip/series. Mods to address as best the 'itches' TW doesn't want to bother with and even whatever egregious bugs/miscalculations still remain in their coding.

Time to put this damn dog to rest.

I've no doubt the sequence went like:

1. TW hired good and bad developers after the success of Warband and it's expansions.

2. Mismanagement of hiring inexperienced labour to support the development caused the good developers to waiver.

3. Constant missed deadlines, including that of the 2017 release became the writting on the wall for the good developers who probably spent more time training in the current developers then actually developing the game they were once passionate about making and showing off in their Dev Diaries.

4. Spaghetti code gradually ensued and instead of fixing it, it became a crutch to p1ss on the fire as quickly as possible by chopping out as much as is needed before the 2020 release.

5. Experienced developers start handing in their notices just before and during the release, probably due to their contracts being fulfilled and had they zero desire to stay on knowing what was in store.

6. TW are left with the current crowd who stayed on for the money and the extremely lackadaisical environment and who have no idea what any of the code means and even after months and months of refactoring it - and years after of release - still decided to cut out a load of content, features and mechanics instead of implementing anything.

7. Armagan finally comes back into the office from his extended vacation drenched in jewelry bought from the pre-orders. He sees the sh1t show and decides the best course of action is to build a mega studio fit for a king during one of Turkeys worst recessions as it's dirt cheap to do so, so when the economy picks up, he will have a fat asset to borrow against to continue investing into mobile game studios seeing as that's all the current Devs can manage to help with.
