A good game should support all the main languages. English is the most widely used now, though Chinese is used by the largest number of people in the world. So, if you need a translation in Chinese, just call me. Even though I'm only a Senior Student, I can translate English into Chinese perfectly. And also because so, my reward will be very little.

That just because the game is now only on the Internet! It hasn't been made into disks and sold in the stores yet! One day, when the game is on sale in Chinese stores, you will understand deeply.

The game itself only supports English and the Website also doesn't support Chinese is another reason.

And about the reward, it's just my homework. As a senior student, we are asked to do some real work and then give a lecture and so on.

M&B won't get a publisher as far as I know, since publishers tend to ***** about deadlines, so developers are forced to release games that aren't finished yet.

You can't ask money for something you do for a commercial project without asking the developers for the rights. You would most likely get sued if you'd try this anywhere else. Further more it's lame, since "modding" never was and never will be supposed to be commercial.

I think some of you are being a bit harsh on the guy. He's offering to undertake a fairly large and time-consuming task for a little bit of compensation. And i don't think there's anything illegal about the devs paying someone a hundred bucks or whatever and throwing their name in the credits in exchange for its translation to Chinese.

I know there're Turkish version (Completed by one guy, I think), French version is on the way. They were doing it free so Maybe tried to find the way to transrate without charge first, togeher with some of your friends?

But it's you and dev's problem to settle. If Armagan is happy paying to transrate in Chinese, why not?

Final End: Thanks for your offer. However, there is no translation system for the game yet. You may try translating the data files, but that wouldn't be feasible since:
(a) You would have to redo all that hardwork with every new version.
(b) Some of the text (in user interface and such) is hard-coded and can not be changed that way.

So I suggest waiting for us to release a localization kit. (I don't know when we can do that, but we'll try to do it sometime) Once that is out, we can think about programs and rewards for translating the game into various languages.

He never mentioned money. He is saying that the reward (what one gains for something) is the completion of his homework - the practical application of Eng-Chinese translation, and the right to lecture about it. Sternly.

It is your own greedy mind that immediately thought of money


Also, it may not have many Chinese visitors precisely because of language. I don't even need fingers to count how many Chinese speaking forums I inhabit, to discuss games using the Chinese language (although I did once play "X Operations", which was a fun freeware FPS made in some other language.)

Now I personally don't care if there is a Chinese version or not, but if there was - word of mouth would spread to Chinese speakers, just as it has to you and I. Thus the change to Chinese would create the need, and not the other way around.

If he want to translate content about game into Chinese, why dont he just make a fan-site sort of thing. And then PM it to devs. So they if they need in can accept or decline.
