Do the Vikings, you know, actually try to conquer Britannia now?

I think Kalarhan's looking at returning the execution functioning in one of his tweak packs.

Hum that is on my personal mod, not on a pack for the public actually. But as anything on that thread, it is a idea that any modder/player can use

Cheers

Please include this on a public mod!

It would be great if choosing to execute gave two menu options: 1 for normal execution and 1 for the Blood-Eagle.  Normal execution would incur great penalties as usual.  Blood-Eagle could be double the penalties!

I'd love to return to Frisia in story-mode and wipe that smirk of Jarl Harald's face while his lungs pump uselessly across his backside

Why tease us  if it's personal then why even say anything lol

read the thread and you will understand. It is a collection of ideas. I took many from it to my personal mod and I released some back to the community. Win-win

It's open, so you can take anything from it and release packs if you would like to. I will watch your posts for your releases in the future.

Cheers

Cool suggestion, I will add it to the list.

What about with consequences (unless he's a traitor or something) like all other lords will dislike you and may get a risk of revolting.

That's pretty much fairy tale nonsense. The entire concept of artificial consequences for "balance" destroys an immersive and accurate setting. It was trash in Bry, it would be trash here. Hell, I ripped the source code to pieces to remove that nonsense from Bry and to add the feature to VC.

Having another lord replace an executed one after a certain time period would be fine. Or perhaps a random chance of the lord being replaced every x amount of time. That way you can still weaken a faction considerably in the short term without destroying the game play long term. That would also make the most sense from an immersion standpoint - you can't simply find a capable lord under every rock ready to take the place of the last 3000 that were executed.

If more game developers thought like that (implementing features with reasonable workarounds instead of shutting down features that they can't handle), we would have more good games. It's really that simple.

To be brutally honest, this is kinda true.

Topic says it all. At launch, I observed NO vikings making any sort of raids or conquests on Britannia instead shuffling about in their home countries, despite being constantly at war with British factions.  I decided to shelve the DLC until this very basic issue was fixed - is it?

Dont't worry.

In my game the Danes invaded and exterminated East Angle and Mierce.
As a vassal of Gwynned, i'm trying to push them back to the ocean

What's also fairy tale nonsense is this notion that because the Dark Ages were brutal!!!!, rulers could go around killing anyone they pleased and there's nothing nobody could do because hey, they're the rulers, aight.

The engine and code does not allow the game to handle the utterly plausible situation of a ruler removing a subject. Something has been occurring in one form or another since the first ape got uppity with the pack leader, with no end in sight.

Limitations renders the point moot.
