Do I need to install that siege addon?

NE works fine without the siege addon. It's basically a rip-off from the Lords & Realms mod.

Yet, the so-called NE Siege Add-on also includes numerous new Lord's halls, as well as tweaked/redone town centers. Some dramatic changes, too, like a neat harbour in Tihr. These new scenes are just there for the look! They won't really alter the gameplay, just make it better-looking.

I'll post some screenshots of some of them, if you want?...

So it's just eyecandy and not adding extra siege towers and ladders? I'd rather have only 1 ladder to make siege defending easier.

It's both. Eyecandy and extra ladders.

I'd take it. It's not that much harder and more fun. I mean: where is the fun/difficulty in shooting down some guys coming up a ramp in a row? As long as those guys aren't Dark Knights of course
And the altered scenes for the four main arenas are kind of refreshing aswell.

Looks cool, but I'm getting a bit tired of starting a new character every few weeks when a new patch comes out. Is there any way to bring a character over? I don't care about the factions and troops, but leveling a character and companions is a bother.

You can always export your char's stats and import it into the new game. For companions, I think I saw a thread in Mod Forge forum where someone made something to allow exporting companion stats...

The 'Siege Add-on', is savegame compatible, anyway. It doesn't modify the core gameplay, only the looks... so you'll be able to keep the same savegames.

You can press statics when seeing your status and export character, then when you start a new game, you give the same name of the old character and import. You won't have renown nor itens, only your money and level.

I haven't tried this one personally, but if it works like L&R siege pack troops guard all ladders and use all ladders. It's the same as native, but more fun.

I like it, doesn't add much but you get knocked off the ladders by your own men slightly less. >.>

****ing AI.

Try having your Varangian (Sp?) Berserker raise his weapon at a hunter, stand within swing range for EIGHT SECONDS without swinging while the archer pops him in the face 3 times

Is it completable with old save file then, because I don't want to start a new game after starting my own Kingdom for a while.

I tried it and didn't like how it changed Praven's siege tower to three planks of wood.

Well, Praven is town N° 6. The name of the siege scene is scn_town_6_walls.sco

You can restore the old siege scene from your Native folder.
