Do I have to lug these prisoners around?

I've got 4 or 5 of the Jarls I just captured (a 195 vs my 39 man army I might add) and I've been lugging them around, but I own no castles. How do I place them in a prison?

First post, and I'm very new to M&B. Love it so far.

Oh and this is about warband.

You have to have a castle or city other wise you can give them to lords for quests or ransom them. Until you capture a castle or city you're stuck with them.

You only have 4 ways to loose your prisoners captured lords:

You put them in prison in a castle or city you own (but you don't have one).

The prisoner escapes.

You get a offer for ransom from the prisoner's faction.

You talk to a lord of your faction (or a faction at war with the prisoner's faction) and you can get an offer for one of your prisoners (less than the regular ransom).
As you can't free them like regular troops that's all the options you have.
Only the last option is something you can actively pursue.

Edited because some people can't put one and one together.

Hmm. There needs to be a way to place prisoners in any garrison. Especially considering I am a vassal. Why doesn't it allow this? Especially with all the extra Lords I have. (10, and we are still losing to King Ragnar's 150+ personal armies)

So far I haven't seen a mod that allowed the placement of prisoners in the prison of others or the selling to the slave trader or a ransom broker.

pft .. sell em as slaves to slave trader at tavern.
You can't sell lords to the slave trader or a ransom broker.

Mmmmnnn,,  let's see.  If you were so capable of taking on a 195 man army on your own, then the Kings Measly 150 man army should be no problem.  Why don't YOU do it, instead of complaining about your fellow vassals?

And also, with the chances of capturing an enemy Lord so low (unless you got really, really lucky or edited the files) and you've now got 10 Lords prisoner, you ideally should have fought in alot of battles and your renown should be higher and therefor your troop strength should be higher, so there's no reason why you can't go out and capture a Castle on your own.

Or you can release them. Only enemy lords escape, regular troops don't, except if you try to recruit them, they say yes and take money, then still they might attempt to escape the first night (unless you spend the night in a castle or a town, then they can't escape and will remain with you).

Should you read the first post you might notice he was talking about lords so my answers are about lords.

You are right. Still it seems to me from the original question that he's new to M&B, so why not to shed some additional light on the subject?
I didn't mean to discard what you'd written, only made additional explanation. No offence then I do hope .

Oh, when I said Ragnars personal armies of 150+ I meant he had that many himself. He would usually travel with 5 or 6 others in his kingdom who had around 70+ in their party. The Vaegirs had some trouble with those when they would sit at 40 men each.

Also, the battle where I got 10 (exaggerated, I had 7). They were all just given to me at the end. I found it odd because I had heard of the incredibly high escape rate. But I took it in stride I suppose.

However, I knew all the other bits about releasing/selling prisoners. I was just kinda dumbfounded to learn that your King would rather have you lug around a potentially important person in a small raiding party.

Oh, and about the capturing a castle bit. After I had posted I attempted to capture a castle. It was difficult, mainly because I didn't know that Cavalry are absolutely horrible at besieging. I ended up getting it, but it was difficult.
