Do horses in inventory still boost speed in 0.702 ?

I remember someone said that when you have horses in your inventory it would make infantry count as horseback riders when moving on world map (so having a few horses would make speed a bit higher).

I haven't noticed any difference in 0.702, does it still works ??

i think, horses in the inventory help reduce "luggage" penalties for the goods you carry. the more "spare" horses (with no riders) across the party, the less penalties. the spare horses do not help to carry infantry though.

Maybe Armagan or someone in the know should address this. This issue hasn't been broached in the "official" guides for M&B as far as I know. With inventory slots at a premium, especially early on in the game, this kind of information is essential, I think.

Horses in your inventory, from my experience will never ever increase your maximum movement speed. All they do is help to alleviate penalties based on weight carried. Unless you're carrying goods there really is no need to keep horses in your inventory, maybe 1 at the most as armor and weapons don't weigh much.

Odd that you should mention this, i never heard anyone say that but always thought something along these lines would be a GREAT idea. Perhaps if it didn't take up inventory space though.

Well i don't care much for it, i just remembered someone said that in a thread about moving speed, i tested it with 12 horses and i saw a very small change in the speed, probably only because of luggage.

if you have no luggage: horses in inventory do not appear to have any effect on the map speed. nonetheless, if you do carry inventory (on top of anything in your body/weapon's slots): the spare horses do help to reduce weight induced speed penalties.
