Do castles generate income now?

I just got assigned a fief by King Ragnar, Derchios Castle and the village of Toshdar. The first time I got income from it I noticed that the castle was actually generating more income than the village. Considering Toshdar had just recovered from being looted (dont you love how before taking a castle the AI loots the village attached to it) but the fact that Castles generate any income at all in warband is a surprise to me. At first I thought maybe it was a one time thing but ive gone several weeks and the income generated by the castle is actually growing. It now actually pays for its own garrison and the village money helps pay for my field army.

Is this a glitch or are castles supposed to do that now?

By the way I have added some tweaks to my game but none of them should affect how much income anything generates.

The castle generates as long as the attached village is okay.  If the village gets raided you lose village and castle income.

not me it ain't. the castle provides no income. i currently have 1 city (2 villages attached), 2 castles (1 village each) and another village withour castles nor cities. We are currently not at war with anyone, yet the castle's income is NONE. which one is the bug?

5 villages, 2 castles and i city (TULGA!!!) that should provide me sufficient income dont you guys think? and i am a marshal of nord

Castles seem to generate double the income of the village to me...

you're saying that the castle income doesn;t come from the castle... but it stacked/doubles the attached village?

No, in the few occasions I've looked, the castle generates twice as much as the village - i.e. if the village generates 450, the castle generates 900, for a total of 1350. If the village is looted, neither produce anything.

that is the case... we are at peace and i mean piece for almost 20 days and all i currently doing is trading (which made me realize that i am really not good at trading things  )

and then on the weekly budget report.. both castle generates none... ARRRGGHHH!!!!

I have noticed that castle income is called "rents" on the budget screen. This is a long shot, but maybe this income is related to the fact that are caravans and villagers passing by there?

I'd be interested in exactly how this works too. I own 2 villages and 1 castle, one of the villages is attached to the castle. I get income from the unaffiliated village but not the castle and connected village. That village was recently raided so that does support the theory of castle/village connected income.

Does anyone know what the 'cool-down' for a raided village is before it starts generating income again? My two villages are constantly being raped and consequently my castle don't produce any income either. Haven't received a dime in months and my army takes 4000 out of my budget a week. That's a lot of trading and raiding to avoid bankruptcy. Now that there's finally peace with Swadia my villages should be safe, but still no income.

I think some one listed 8.3 days.

Aight. Looking forward to some income soon then!!

From my experience, villages generate income but castles do not.  Every time I've looked at my budget, it always lists castles as zero and I haven't had a raided village in 2 wars.

It's been mentioned that castles only generate income if you own the associated village, in which case it will generate twice the income of the village.

From what I know, castle get income from its associated village (just copy the income). If you also own that village, you get 2 identical income sources.

If you do not own the associated village, you still need to protect it because it is your source of income.

I just found out that if a village raid is broken (mean you or other lord help the villagers defeat the raider party), the income still reset to zero for that week. I need to keep an eye on this to confirm.

I don't see this income listed unless you mean to say that what is listed for the village is (village_income * 2) on the budget screen.  I own 2 castles and the villages in my recent game and the castles always list as zero and the villages seem to have ~400 for income.

Nope, it's listed under the castle. Don't know why yours isn't working right, but it's not. (Or mine is giving me income it shouldn't)

Would have to confirm it by loading my first save with multiple fiefs, but I can confirm that when you own just a castle and its fief, you receive income from both.

I took Asugan Castle from the Kherjit, once the village was no longer being raided I got 418 from the village, and 418 from the castle. This is under my own faction btw.  These figures could be higher when I truce with the Kherjit I expect, since currently the trade is just with the Sarranids to the south.
