DnD Game: The Goblin Menace

Heh, why don't you just play as a Tarrasque, that's in the Monster Manual too.

Just kidding. I think you may be missing some level adjustments or something, your character looks like some kind of werewolf on steroids, with class levels, who acidentally found a huge dragon's hoard of magical items. No way that's CR 3.

PS I actually thought you were taking the piss when you posted that char sheet.

Yeah, I can attest to that.

I checked out the race, and it does appear that there are no level adjustments. It's a wee bit overpowered, though.

I was referring to the lycanthrope. I've played a werebear, and you can do some ridiculous things with it.

Now that I look at it, the race is actually pretty ok. The increased physical abilities in wolf form compensate for your lack of options while morphed.

Ah, okay. Yeah, I was upset that I don't even have a claw attack in wolf form. Astounds me that the wolf is 10 feet long with presumable lethal claws, yet manages to have an unarmed strike attack not surpassing that of its elven form if not for the strength bonus.

Also, yeah, the werebear gets +16 strength, no?

And LA+2. :???:

The DM wanted 'Core only', because 'it's balanced'. I decided to be nice and not play the wizard or druid, but I wasn't nice enough to keep my grubby paws off the cleric.

He learned not to **** around after the werebear cleric kicked his NPC organization's collective ass to the Abyss. Stacking buffs is fun.

Vancian system or Gculk's houserule?

For the latter, at the start of a day, you gain spell points equal to your primary casting stat modifier + d10(levels of spellcasting classes). I'm not sure what exactly governs the ability to cast a spell, but you have to do a skill check to see if it succeeds.

And the basic variant classes like the paladin of tyranny are possible. I think I have my concept fitted for the campaign then.

And here it is, Odgaud, a bard derivate more fit to this campaign.

Odgaud is a stern follower of Farlangh, and often on the road. As a youngster, he found himself traveling with every caravan he could, his memories of his parents hazy at best, but his father was a merchant, as was his mother, but the two of them did not meet often, Odgaud left them for his own endeavours at the age of 10. Odgaud has found his match in the scouts of the army, and was giving them information because they had goals similar to his since long before he entered service for the first time. His thrusty companions are a couple of canines, one a long haired blond specled brown male shepherd and one a dark female wolf. The female's name is Heylawive and the male's name Geroward. He came across them warding a family off some goblins, and convinced them to travel with him ever since. Heylawive is his mount of choice, and Geroward carries other gear he uses. Odgaud has a deep hatred for the goblins, more than gnomes usually do, since his diety and heritage had so much problems with them waylaying the roads.
Odgaud is oft in the employ of a larger group for use in scouting, and it has been often that Heylawive and him quietly followed a goblin scout, gaining valuable information quickly, and reporting back before others could have done so, while the magical support he has has helped ave a few lives as well. Odgaud is now an irregular in the employ of the king.
Odgaud is a gnome that looks as much like a 50 year old as a 75 year old, and it is often even gnomes guess wrong, he wears a greengray hat over his skullcap and the rest of his clothes are not all gaudy as well, oft to hide the shine of his mail shirt, a prized possession he has received some time in the past for a feat of exceeding bravery, but it helps his profession as well of course, two more of his striking possessions are his darkwood lance and shield, chosen as such for their weight, and if he wished, Odgaud would make a good figure with his silvery mail shirt and darkwood lance and shield, atop a fair and strong canine steed, it is very seldom though this strikes him as a good idea.

Odgaud uses the variant bard from the hypertext srd
