Divorce your spouse

Sorry if it has been suggested before but I couldn't find it. I would like to be able to divorce my wife, make it with certain strings if you must. In the event of my character getting old (as in my current play through) and my wife apparently being barren.

I tried having her in my party, I tried having her govern my city and waited in the city. After years no children, I would like an option other than actively trying to get her killed so I can remarry a hopefully more fertile wife.

Me too.

In my current playthrough on 1.5.10, I only got daughters and I think there's now a hard cap on how many children we can have so I'm out of luck.

I'm aware I can just send the wife into battle and hope for death but this seems like a really miserable way of doing things. So, here are some suggestions:

1. Remove the hard cap please. By all means make it harder but it shouldn't be that hard. It would be nicer if there was some kind of interaction where you can opt to "try" vs the system automatically trying whenever you wait in a town.

2. As OP suggested, have the option to divorce with penalties etc.

Every child a woman has decreases the chance of pregnancy.

And you want sons, not daughters.
Sons stay in the clan after marriage and daughters leave the clan after marriage.

I would like to divorce my wife, because I wanted her to run a clan in my kingdom. But now I find I can't reward her a fief, when we are married.
