Recruit
I don't know if this is plausable, but I think that possibly the jobs could be devided more, as you woudn't go to one guy for all your weapon needs, one guy for your armour needs and then one for horses and food.

There should be more guys in the loop. Break weapons dude and armour dude down into a Blacksmith (Swords and other bladed weapons, and armour), a Tanner (Leather armour and such), a Fletcher (all things ranged except throwing weapons), a Stablemaster (horses and horse feed and saddlery[A useful addition when regarding loot balance and how much you get, make people kit out their horses] and also saddlebags for carrying extra), and the list goes on.

And I think the inventory menu could be improved to make it easier to make this work, and have individual shops or stalls, like in Zendar, rather than have them just standing around in the middle of a dungeon.

This idea would add alot of depth thats for sure.
On the shop location point, I think in later versions there will be at least unique interiors for each shop. In the current version, Valuca has a proper tavern so I imagine other interiors will be added.
Splitting the shops is a very good idea though.

I think that every town should have more induvidual characteristics almost like what you say. But some towns should not have a certain type of merchandise and some have. Like some town dont have blacksmith and some town dont trade horses.

I agree Talon. I was thinking something similar one day when I talked to the smith, and saw leather armour for sale, it's not right. I figured maybe it would be a good idea to split armour sales into a tanner for leather items, and the smith for items with metal. Then got to thinking why does a general-stuff merchant sell horses for that matter, heh. But I wonder, what about cloth based things? Historically, who would have sold these? A tailor I suppose. The whole ecenomic world could really be fleshed out.

I know this is a suggestion for the actual game, but a mod could make it happen.

It might be worthwhile if you altered the price each buys and sells at too.

For instance, the blacksmith should offer you less for leather armour, while the tanner would pay regular price for it (while offering less for chainmail).

I'm in two minds about it though. It does create a lot more running about for little to no reason. Perhaps if there were more reasons to stay in town longer than a re-equip, sell loot, rest up and head out.

I agree, I think there should be more reasons for you to stay in town. As most towns have 5 rooms in the lot I think there isn't much to do but sell loot and rest up. Perhaps if there were more individual town thigns to do. Perhaps there should be two or more tournaments in the rest of the world (one in each nation state) and make other places for different things. Make it more believable and interesting to be involved with. Right now, the only factions other than the main two are dark knights and Khergit raiders. I think including more of these would help, make them have their own base of origin. Make something to be feared in the land, and when you walk past someone in a town, hear them say, "Isn't that the one who was in the tournament in reyvadin?" - "Of course, he won it, finest blade in the land."

Also, I think that selling horses shouldn't be as an item to have in your inventory. Make the stables have a different sort of menu, make it so they have the camera go to each horse and you see their stats, and make a seperate menu for the horses. And when you are attackedf all the spare horses in your pack are on the battlefield as well, perhaps have them tied up to a log or something to stop them running. This could be another inclusion in the town, that you can actually ride in and tie up your horse outside the inn. It's details like this that bring life to a game, rather than making it just convenient for a player to go to town, sell their loot and leave. Make reasons for them to stay, like tournaments, have a ranking system so the character can gain from going to social events.

Similar to Fable I guess. In that, passing NPC's pass comment from "Who's he?" when your relatively unknown to "Isn't that [insert title here] the great hero?". It is a nice little touch.
Historically towns have always been the cultural, economic and entertainment centre of the region. Its a shame that they are relegated to a place to sell loot and re-equip in M&B.
