Dismounting & equipping troops?

How do I get off my horse during combat without waiting for the "dismount" beacon to flash in front of me? Is it possible?

How do I give equipment to my men(if possible). How do I give equipment to the named partners I join up with?

Any help would be appreciated.

You just look down at yoru horse and the dismount option will appear. You have to be stopped though, although you can hit ctrl+r to rear your horse and stop instantly, but this is a bit of a cheat. Your soldiers' equipment improves as they level up, you cannot equip them yourself. You can only equip the hero's (marnid and borcha). Hit "p" to bring up the party window, then click on their name and click on "talk". Note: this can only be done on the world map.

Horse is moving too fast, you can only dismount when slow enough (hence the DISMOUNT pop-up.

Only named members can get items. Highlight one of them in Party, TALK, then give "things I have I don't use anymore".

You must be on the world map to talk to your party - you cannot do it in a town or other scene.
