If you are still having issues please post your question and any details about the issue you are having over on the mod page over at Nexus.

Make sure your game version and the version of th mod are in line.
A game crash would only occur if this was not the case. Also make sure you have the supporting mods downloaded and loading in the correct order. I myself do this manually by launching game via steam and drag drop the order on the mod tab of the vanilla launcher before hand.
