all this was,
was more bs, more random battle footage
nothing which tells you about the campaign/ranks/quests

not being funny but i cant stress enough there is a growing misconception that this game is just 5 years in development

WRONG!

they started it in 2010 after warband was released (just google old articles)

WHY IS IT that 7 years after release all we have is work in progress battle footage, and i believe its been about 3 years since theyve shown us anything non combat related

i understand they arent a massive company like EA but surely large parts of the campaign and quests should have been completed years ago

all they keep showing us is waffle

in fact their last 2 ``weekly blogs`` have beeen nothing more than waffle about the development and NOTHING about actual game play

i think they are stalling us and trolling us

are they making this through your investments ? shut up and wait they can release it whenever they like and after seeing how smooth it is i'm glad they didin't rush things up and screw in release now i can see this game can stay being top seller in steam for months

This was the only thing that got me about the video.  A shieldwall should stay a wall until the charge is met so that the "speed bonus" of an enemy isn't an issue.  What I saw was a counter-charge once the enemy was close enough.  It's not a huge issue, but in real line fighting you lose a huge advantage as an individual in having protected flanks as soon as your shields come out of line.

Otherwise, I was very happy to see the Battanians Vs. the Empire, sad the Battanians lost.  I liked the map itself and the use of infantry to block choke points.  The Javelinmen/Skirmishers looked great.  The unit upgrade menu looked good, easy to use and to understand.

Good job Taleworlds, I can't wait to see what else you have for us.
 
Okay, nice combat video. Anything else you want to show us on the campaign map or in towns? A running commentary would have been nice, or Callum's voice is not in the discernible frequency range.

I saw that too, but if you look in the lower left hand corner of the screen when that happens, you can see that the player gave the order to "Protect me". Looks like this was an intentional choice to break the shield wall.

It looked cool. Graphics are great, gameplay is great! So good work TW! Too bad I don't give a $hit about muliplayer tho. But for those who do, this must be nice.

I am WAY more interested in the SP sandbox. Will they show us more of the sandbox campaign? Sorta the whole reason I am following the game.....

please ... a new game mode and a reaction so sour. I recommend you a more basic nutrition.

I think mod is good for new players, but it would be real downfall if that was the only mod with matchmaking, classic battle is the best imo ( might need changes to objectives ) but please no bots or respawns :3
 
Nothing new at the stream... they only ask the same questions that have been asked a 100 times already.. Again asking about co-op.. hot damn shut up already they already answered it a 100 times. Same footage more or less as E3.... :cry:
 
Well, what makes me kinda worried is the fact they haven't decided yet on some quite basic things. But that might be just me.

Same here, though honestly the Captain mode Multi looked great. Need that campaign map sweetness tho
 
I learned that you wont even control your troops in battle, which is kinda cool. However while the idea of putting you in order is cool; i dont think it will work practically. You wont have any rewards or punishments after your actions which makes it no more than a tutorial/suggestion. I can see it is so diffucult for ai to see objectives, even it can be done it is not worth the time i guess.
 
Really nice! I like it, lots to digest so will probably comb over the video again when I have more time. First thing that I really like is the potential here for customization. I still feel like face codes were one of the greatest things ever in a multiplayer game and extending that to troop type and gear options is even better. You know over time certain players will have certain AI types following them around and that'll be great.

I'd really, really want to see this mode with double the players and multiple capture points. I know that more AI walking around adds a lot more networking overhead so probably not a simple ask there. But I've always through the territories style game modes are very interesting on pub servers as things get spread out and you can really work different strategies and angles and feel like you contribute by holding down a section.

I think it'll be great to have people moving between capture points more often so it will allow you to have a berserker style ai army catch out archers as they move from place to place. When you just have one section all the flank routes will eventually become known and it'll be really hard to sneak up on people. When the archers have to relocate often though it will be impossible to cover every approach.

Finally, I really wanted to see that shield wall hold formation and be effective at the end, rather than needing to collapse into the meat grinder. I really would not be opposed to troop stat bonuses if they are in a group of like 6+ and in formation to encourage that behavior.

Either way it looked great and a ton of fun, lots of UI and combat animations to drink in here.
 
I hope captain mode could support 10v10, it would be epic.. Imagine that one siege map, one team (10 players) defends the castle, other team attacks the castle
 
Nice work. Simple question: will we get something for our hands in next 4 months ?
