Hi,

yes, Drahara is a cancer for many reasons. A very important one is their disciplined lords, they obey marshal summons and appear in overwhelming force at sieges. There should be more sneaky lords NOT following the marshals summons.

While at it anyway I hope the devs realize and attend to Tolranian high-tech weapons. As of now Zann benefits the most from them...

Rgds, Oldtimer
High tech weapons?

First of all, I have to say I love the new changes to the game such as the troop tree tweaks, the new assets, and the option to directly recruit warbands of friendly minor factions into my army. I have a few suggestions and observations:

1) Currently, Lymbard Squires seem to require far too little experience to upgrade into Lymbard Paladins for how strong the latter are. I'm not entirely sure how upgrade experience is calculated, but I feel like they could benefit from either an intermediate upgrade or requiring more experience to be eligible to upgrade.

2) The Third Legion troops are still based on the old Venetoran Empire troop tree, with the Companion Archers and Companion Cavalry instead of the newer Venetoran cavalry and archer units like the Cataphract and Marksman.

Interesting thought. But yeah, I've never liked Venetor and they are probably my least favorite faction.

I have done their quests in playthroughs bc I am a completionist, and have been frustrated by the buggyness, but also how inorganic and out-of-place Venetor is in the Perisno world, feels more like they are randos larping as Romans.

What you think about changing Hakon Empire unit roster? As it is right now they are basically another Venetor empire ^^

It looks like that Perisno Paladins have more power strike and proficiency than the Household Guards. Wouldnt it be ok to make Household Guards at least on par with Perisno Paladins considering how much players have to pay for each of them?

Also can you add an option to revive fallen kingdoms? Something like an option while talking to our minister so we can do something so exiled kings return from exile with an army and try to get back their land? It could be even a new kingdom its just to not have like 3 big countries on the map because then game gets boring ^^

The Hakkon idea is intriguing.

The Persino Paladins are a unit you're not supposed to have a ton of. You can easily optain the household guard if you have enough money.

Good suggestion. I'll think about it.

Ref Venetor retcon ; the hidden stronghold could be changed to Some old Perisno town/ castle/ motte from where to start the crusade?
We have a pretty good idea with what we are replacing venetor with.

Good to know that youll think about these ideas! Here is how i would go about it! ^^

After a longer play most kingdoms are destroyed so it gets boring. I have an idea to remedy that and also add some flavour to the games diplomacy.

In this mod there is a chance that exiled lords will return from exile right? What if also Kings could do the same? Thats how i would do that...

-We ask our minister to send a letter to the exiled king where we either give him lands from our territory or send him money for the army that will help him take his home back. In case that we give him a fief from our territory we would call him a vasal but for game it would be just an alliance or a trade agreement or a ceas-fire, whatever you know what i mean..

-There is a random chance that king will decide to return after he found the funds for his army and then he will besiege some random fief and if he manage to take it he will proclaim his kingdom.

-There is a random chance that the rebels will spawn on the map and besiege random fief and then proclaim a kingdom for a random exiled king.

-Im pretty sure that there is a mechanic in the game because ive already seen it in some mods where a certain fief hate player or ai rulers of theirs and they rebell and proclaim themselves as a part of one of the previously destroyed kingdoms.

This would not only mitigate the problems with not having anyone to fight anymore but also would add some more diplomatic options for player rulers or maybe even ai rulers and also it would add some flavour to the overall gameplay. Also i believe that it should be possible to do fairly easy considering that in this game we can achieve many things going around the engine limitations. For example in Perisno we can marry princesses even tho its impossible in the main game. We can also send assassins after enemy lord etc.

Like Kysanna's troops, it would be cool if you could recruit Wolf Constables from Baron Gereon if you are married to him and/or he is your vassal. It would be balanced as you would have to have >90 relations with him and they would cost a lot of aurums to recruit. I also think that his personality should be fixed as cunning or possibly self-righteous, as that seems the most "wolfy"

Maybe you could recruit Emir Grasullah's assassins in the same way, although you can already take the foot archer version out of Tabranpadan Castle if you are married to him.

Hey all, just created an account to post some of my thoughts on Perisno current versus past (0.81) versions.

1. Venetor
2. Other factions
3. Music/technicals/updates
4. Items etc.

1. Venetor is my favourite faction and I definitely think they should stay in the game. They are super strong with decent variety and high level troops (so they're balanced for the player as you cannot get armored/empyrean legionaries just from training over a few days).
They bring disruptive gameplay in the world map by being strong enough to take on other factions but not in an unfair way (like the zann do). They can be created by the player at almost any time, so the twist they add to the game is fantastic.

However their questline has one of the most nonsensical designs imaginable. You assault a fortress of 10-20 crossbowmen with 5 units. If they die you just immediately reattempt with full health. Afterwards Ral Daiun brings 400 units to the same fortress (???) against your 40-300+ units.

There just needs to be a small change so that you assault the fortress with your army (instead of 4 units).
The initial quest for Fort Trilond/Third Legion Fort is also silly. You have to take on a garrison of 450 but have unlimited time and attempts to do that. You cannot be assisted by lords or by your mercenary escort (why?) so you just have to lose dozens or hundreds of soldiers in either an annoying loss, or an extremely boring F1 tab archer spam.
The player should be able to use an escort/lords to besiege it, or maybe Atanos Octiem just meets you in field battle and then you just fight 20-50 units in the castle.

2. All of my recent playthroughs, I've set the zann invasion date to day 10,000. This makes the game much better and more enjoyable.
Also there still isn't an option to become a vassal for Zann through dialogue?
I've done in previous playthroughs by him offering me a village and vassalage randomly, but it's very annoying to just sit on the world map and hope a) someone raids a zann village, b) he offers me the village and vassalage.

Zann have super good AI. He allocates fiefs almost instantly, their marshals move very quickly towards objectives (defending + taking castles and towns), their lords stick together, they get new lords and tend to keep them happy and loyal. They also have extreme numbers and quite strong units (except for sieges), so playing with them is really enjoyable.
On the downside, they completely ruin the game. They arrive on the map and instantly ruin half the factions on the map. Tolrania become extinct because they lose a lot of fiefs and are usually already at war with Maccavia/Elintor/Reich when the invasion happens. Falcons lose half their fiefs and if Hakkon or Elintor declare war on them, they generally don't recover, and go extinct.
Hakkon usually get destroyed by Drahara when the invasion happens, as they are at war with Drahara, Kaikoth, Zann, and sometimes Elinton and Falcon too.
Elintor suffer a lot and end up becoming a minor faction like Sut.

The invasions breaks the game. This is why the Venetor game introduction is better - they have numbers and elite troops and decent lords but don't instantly obtain half the map from half the factions.
Proposed solutions: allow the player to offer vassalage to Zann through dialogue; have Zann start with Zann Fort and a bunch of lords that play like any other normal AI (rather than giving them 20 fiefs spread across the map).
This way they can declare war on Maccavia and fight it out near Blackfist Castle and Forde, or Tolrania and fight over Leuven etc. It would make their growth organic and their gameplay fair.

Bakhal and Sut: these guys need a few changes. Bakhal are useless as their lords are solitary and are only focused on raiding villages or fighting lords; Sut either get lucky and take 1-2 castles/towns from Reich (if the latter are destroyed by Valahirs and others), or get destroyed by Reich very early. Bakhal usually get destroyed by Tumatarhun/Drahara/both.
Bakhal AI needs improvement, and their faction leaders should have better diplomatic relations with other factions, so they don't end up in a war of 4 confused lords versus 20 disciplined and united lords.

One final suggestion: make the world map random war parties be part of/allied to the faction they represent?
So if I'm following the Valahir or Elintor marshall I don't get taken prisoner by a random group of Volheere/Ankars (and then fail the "follow the marshall quest" too).

3. I went back to 0.81 yesterday to compare with the new one.
It has the best music and plays a lot more of it. It's very stable.
The new version just gives me (and others from what I've seen) a runtime error every few hours, sometimes completely at random. Example: I'm in a battle, I'm running towards the enemy, and I get runtime error. Or: I click on "talk to guild master" -> runtime error.
I think it would be better to just release 1 version a month but test it for bugs and crashes rather than 2 versions a week.
This way the changes could be unified as well, so e.g. a Lymbard troop tree could get released all at once.
I think the worst change from 0.81 to later versions is the loss of the very high quality music.

4. I like how the latest versions balanced the game and I like how dwarves and giants finally got high quality armors.
However I'm confused by why some items that were great or decent were removed entirely from the game?
For example, the perisno golden plate (that captains of the guard used to have) was super cool, as was the knightly plate armor. I get adding newer, much better textured armors and weapons, but why not leave some of the old ones in the game anyway?
As a side note, thrown weapons are nearly useless. I edited the item_kinds1 file to have 10 of each thrown spear and 8 throwing axes and now they are pretty good but bows and crossbows are still superior. I think this is what the thrown weapons need.
Finally. 0.8 hired troops were amazing in that they were customisable. Customising hired troops has now turned into an infuriating whack-a-mole game of "find the item that'll get you below 120%". This 120% cap should be completely removed. It's not fun and it doesn't bring anything positive to the gameplay at all.

To end: I would of course like to thank you for the amazing work done on textures, map changes, siege changes, AI changes (horse archers AI are impressive), faction reworks, Venetor full release and many other changes (e.g. the Dwallnor merchant). Fantastic work that has made Perisno one of the better games released in the past few years.
I just wanted to share some of my thoughts and a few suggestions in case anyone is interested.
Hope you enjoyed reading.

Hope you enjoyed reading.
1) Venetor is getting retconned. A more fleshed out faction is in the works. In short Venetor in my eyes was too copy and paste from the Romans.
2) It should not be easy in joining the Zann. Why join an invading faction that is set on wiping out Perisno?
3) Music- A lot of it was replaced due to copyright issues. Version 0.81 is so old I hardly remember what it had.
There are some things you can do to make the game run.

Recommenced Game Settings for Perisno: due to the nature of the size of the module
To avoid or reduce CTDs
-LTOD On - 75% Texture Details - 378 Party Size
-LTOD On - 100% Texture Details - 240 Party Size
-LTOD Off - 25% Texture Details - 240 Party Size
-Use Pixel Shaders
-Force Vertical Sync -Disable Sound Variation
-You can try using Force Singlethreading

For Ryzen CPUs -Download Process Lasso and Disable SMT for Warband, or just adjust it manually via Task Manager

To Decrease Game Loading time
- Increase FPS cap to 999

To reduce Map Stutter or Improve Gameplay
-Keep Sea Travel Off -Don't use hardmode -NEVER AUTOSAVE

4) Balance.

I would have written a much longer response, but I feel this will suffice. Thank you for the feedback.
