Is there any way I can turn routing back on? It really spices up battle imho, shame it is nonexistent in Perisno

No routing avaible: only cavalry archers will flee the battle if they are chased by enemy units till the border of the battlefield.

Everyone in Perisno is too honorable to flee! They fight to their deaths even when outnumbered and outgunned! Survival instict has no place in the mod.

I think Routing causes too many bugs. I've noticed in other mods, whenever I fight an enemy with a few dozen less units than me, they all run away getting slaughtered without even putting up a fight.

Just wanted to say, a musician by the name of Jeremy Soule is letting mod creators use music from their album The Northerner Diaries, with credit of course: https://twitter.com/mistersoule/status/1082919076912017408

Their music is good, and they even have a 17 minute track if longer ones are required. It would be a nice change from the usual music found in Warband.

So, I know this has been suggested before a million times, but what is the developers' official stance on letting players upgrade their armor/weapons at weaponsmiths and armorsmiths?

Viking Conquest has implemented that option a while ago, and I know a few more mods picked up on that feature as well, such as A World of Ice & Fire. I think the code for that is open source(as long as you credit the creators, I believe?) and shouldn't be very hard to implement either way, since it's mostly just a few strings of conversations, plus the scripts to get the item modifiers and the price it'd take to upgrade. It'd serve as a great sink for money, and give players something to do. It's also a much more elegant implementation than in PoP.

Upgrading of equipment  existed in mods (in different forms) since bearded times of vanilla M&B...
But any way it would be nice to have it.

Well, my official stance is that it's insufficient and therefore isn't worth spending time on.
If I ever end up coding armor upgrade feature, it will be like this:

Hmm, sounds like a good system, but impossible for all armors. Though I assume it would only be for medium armors and below, otherwise the custom troop way of categorizing them.

Also, a suggestion, some hooded helmets/cloaked armor like this: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/-zXsfISvGiU/maxresdefault.jpg. What's a man gotta do to find good northern armor that isn't all black? Not to say it doesn't look good. Though I couldn't find any armor packs like that on the nexus, so it's more of a personal dream. Actually, I'm going to go look again now to see if I can find some to add with Morgh's.

Of course I knew about the forum dedicated to free stuff! Why wouldn't I? But dang, it's really got a few thousand new items since my last visit erhm, last minute ago.

Is this sarcastic or a joke similar to mine?  :ohdear:
The lack of smileys do leave me doubtful. The usage of erhm makes me lean forward the second interpretation. So, good joke...I guess.

So basically, exactly like transmogrification in WoW? A lofty goal... very ambitious. I thought Warband always pulls the stats for armors, weapons, etc, directly from item_kinds, and only stores their 'upgrade prefix' and 'amount' (battered/chipped/rusty/reinforced/lordly, etc). Which makes this harder than the custom troops/custom Knighthood Orders, where you can store the equipped items and stats of actors in the savegame.
Additionally: your idea doesn't cover upgrading the weapons to Heavy / Balanced / Masterwork, either.
Oh well! Here's hoping for Perisno's module system to be released one day.

I didn't play WoW, but judging by google, yes.
Warband does pull item stats from item_kinds but mesh reference can be replaced with a script that chooses it "dynamically", based on your choice.
So I need a bunch of "dummy" items with pre-defined stats and such scripts instead of direct mesh references.
As for upgrades - well, I can just implement it as upgrading to another dummy item with higher stats, or just use prefixes, or both.

The 2 problems are (1) it requires a presentation (and I hate coding them) and (2) I need to learn some Python, for in this case the only reasonable and flexible solution is to write a Python script that will write an MB script. Listing all the meshes manually would be a pain in the ass and would break every time some item is added, removed or replaced.

I would personally recommend making Dago Wolfrider a sort of moderator to this subforum. He spends a lot of time on this subforum helping people. He is very diligent and hard working.
