Disappointment

The new skill system is a great example, it's neat and more interesting but levelling up some skills seems borderline impossible. Leveling up engineering? Use siege equipment which is extremely difficult to get used to, or build it which takes days on end to get minimal gains. Just let me read a book or upgrade whatever skill I want.

So far I think the worst loss is the loss of the map from the backspace menu, that made ordering troops and forming battles so much easier than this janky function key system where you have to sorta aim somewhat near where you want people to be.

I agree with the OP and @Timberwolf. The game feels really empty. NPCs are lifeless, towns and cities feel empty with "fake" crowd sounds in the back eventhough there are barely 10 NPCs doing nothing in the town/marketplace and etc.

Quests are repetative and boring. Seems like no improvement has been done on that part. So far the game feels like polished Warband.

Polished in some places, and 3 steps back in others. If this was literally warband but prettier and the new **** came later I'd be totally thrilled, but instead it's half of warband with some new things, most of which are half implemented or just nonfunctional. So many perks just seem to do literally nothing. The perks that give you more ammo? Don't work. Some of the smithing ones? Don't work. It's so bizarre.
I'm trying to be cool with it because it's early access, but it just makes me wonder where so much time went.

They spent years changing the look of the campaign screen and the problems with breakable siege walls in multiplayer, I guess. The game has great potential but feels very empty at this point.

It's not all negative, either. The game is gorgeous and runs unbelievably well. 200+ fps in fairly large battles is nothing to sneeze at. There is a ton of potential and I can't wait to see it, but man I wish I knew how bad it was before my 2 hours were up. I'd save the money and pick it up again later. I'll just keep hoping, and wait for PoP on Bannerlord. Also, renown needs tweaking. It's SO slow to get.
