Disabling/Assigning Mouse Buttons? (SOLVED!)

Hey folks,

I recently got a mouse, it's great, feels great, but one problem.
Moving the middle mouse button side-to-side acts as a forward/back button. I hate it and definitely not something I would like to have.

Is there a way to re-assign the side-to-side mouse wheel buttons (to make them side scroll instead), or completely disable them?
I am using Vista.

Thanks!
Quixote

EDIT: SOLVED!
SOLUTION: Downloaded an application called SetPoint from the Logitech website, and was a dream. It's basically a control panel for your mouse, allowing you to change any setting imaginable (the software detects the mouse youre using). Works pretty similar to a NvIDIA Control Panel, but with more options...and it's for the mouse. Works great and solved problem with ease

Whatever options your mouse driver came with are available in your Control Panel under "Mouse". Typically there are things there to swap the left and right mouse buttons (for lefties), etc, so you might have luck.

Thank you for the response. Couldn't find anything that worked under mouse setting or control panel however.

But I DID find something that worked! The mouse I'm using is a Logitech M525, and I found out that Logitech has an application called "SetPoint".

I downloaded this off their website, and found heaven; exactly what I was looking for. The application detected my mouse and showed a picture of it, allowing me to click any button function and set it to whatever I wanted. For the back-forward scroll buttons, I selected Other>Do Nothing.

Works perfectly! Or I should say...doesn't work perfectly!
