Directx 9 mode, strange sluggishness at high and stable fps.

Hello!

Been playing in direct 7 mode in cRPG for some time now. Everything is super fast, I set the game to cap the fps at 60, cause thats my refresh rate, and no need to heat up my pc unnecessarily.

Now that chadz has introduced weather, it all looks too great to live in directx 7, and I want to move to direct9.

The problem:
Even though my fps is stable at 60 fps in directx 9 as well, I notice a "lag" in the strikes of opponents. Basically they hit me, and I see the animation a bit after. It's not extremely noticable, but for me, playing with a small 2 hander it makes it a live or die situation. This happens even when i set everything possible to low or off in directx 9 mode. This has happened since day 1 when I bought warband, it is not patch-specific, it's just that now i want to fix it!

Question:
Is this a known problem? Is there a certain setting which makes the fps look good, but slows down animations? Maybe this is affecting more people as well.. To me it looks like the issue is directx 9 somehow. As if its cheating the fps to be high, but waits to do the animations. I dunno.

My system:
Windows 7
Macbook Pro (Late 200:cool: 2.5ghz 4gb ram
Nvidia GeForce 8600m GT (512mb dedicated)

Nope, same problem.. sluggishness and unplayable for a duel based char.. Might be my card, but it lingers around 60fps, and that should be more than enough.

I also updated my drivers to try to fix it. Got the latest notebook drivers from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/

reverting to dx7 now..

Sorry that didn't work out for you.. it really sounded like the stutter bug from before
And I do still experience that sometimes in 1.127.
In my game, turning off blood stains eliminates this completely.

It sounds very much like the lag you experience is from your mouse/keyboard input. I'm no expert but there's a setting called "Maximum pre-rendered frames" which is there to smoothen your game. The default value should be 3 and in some cases it can cause contols' input lag at low framerates. You said your FPS is steady 60, so I suppose it's a long shot but you could try to set it to 2, maybe 1. I heard setting it to 0 may have some other negative effect. You can find and set it for M&B only at NVIDIA control panel -> "Manage 3D Settings" -> "Program Settings", find M&B in the list and weak it.

Of course the problem could be somewhere else, for people seem to have all sorts of different problems which I never seen on my system. We just get around by trying everyone's settings - haha.  :???:

Also, try with "force vertical sync" on and off. I get noticeable lag walking around taverns with v-sync on.
