The game is over. Turkey and Germany now control the whole map on their own. Congratualations to both on the draw. Thank you for all the players involved (11 in total, I believe ) and I hope I'll see many of you in our second game, which is (hopefully) soon to begin.

Then, I meantioned, I expect an End of Game (EOG) - statement from every player involved, where you describe your strategy through out the game, how the were your relations with others and things like that. Feel free to drop your EOG here any time you want, I'm looking forward of viewing them all. [cheesy enough already ]

Again, congratulations to Admiral and General.

Hang on, why didn't my Vienna -> Budapest order cut his support from Budapest?

"If a unit ordered to support in a given province is attacked from a different province the unit disregards it's order to support." - That rule was used differently when you fought with Gculk in Moscow, but someone pointed it out later, when the turns where already out. However, the way the rule should be read is the way you lost Vienna here, I've told. Fair to end with different rules that you started - hell no. Works in favour of (mostly GM's) entertainment - pretty much. Sorry Mer, these rule issues are the thing I wanted someone else to take care of managing these, as I take every case differently.

However, these maps aren't permanent, so if both you and med are unhappy, you can work out a different result to this and we can go on. but I was sort of between the wood and the nail in there, as I didn't notice my screw up earlier with you and Gculk.
Now, if you excuse me, I need to stuck my head somewhere for a while

Hrmm.  So you're saying Russia held on to Moscow for three turns (at least) using one rule, then I lose Vienna when I'd counted on that same rule to defend it?    :???:

Alright, I'll take it, if only because I was going to lose that fight in the Balkans eventually.

After the Moscow incident, I had only wrong choices to make, I believe. Though the ending fits the whole picture of mix ups, so ironicly, I couldn't think of any more fitting ending of that game.

The game is over. Turkey now controls 18 of the 18 required centers to win. Congratualations to both him and Germany, who was only 1 center away from catching up. Thank you for all the players involved (11 in total, I believe ) and I hope I'll see many of you in our second game, which is (hopefully) soon to begin.

Again, congratulations to Admiral.

My Fleet should be in Tuscany not the Tyrrhenian, and didn't the Italian army Starve at the end of the ...I WHAT?!!!
There will now follow a stunned silence, followed by me frantically calling back my Ambassador who had orders to effect a draw when the Balkan Offensive failed!!!

EOG to follow!

I had my suspicions about Russia's stout defense, but as it slowed the Germans, and I had been away from the game for a few years I for one was willing to turn a blind eye...

Alright, I'll take it, if only because I was going to lose that fight in the Balkans eventually.

My friend, and venerable opponent you are most gracious in regards to the Balkan Campaign, but if you will look to the west, my French flank was woefully held...
If the rules had not been muddied, you would have defended Vienna differently, I'll concede that, and my attack was not the one I would have used if the end were not nigh...As much as I would like to have swept to victory with 4 captured centers in one turn, I AM WILLING TO OFFER YOU A DRAW!!!

I was prepared to offer this if the attack on Vienna had failed in any event, because I wish to be on to the next game. Quite frankly, I've never seen the game end evenly divided before.  I hope this offer is not an insult to my French, and Russian Allies, over who's bodies I was able to force the out come.

Admiral Medvedov, Emperor of the Reborn Roman Empire, Emperor of Byzantium, King of Spain, and Portugal, and Pasha of the Turks

P.S.  I still regret not sending an Armada against England, but You Got there first!!!

*grin*  Oh, I was aware of the French flank, and my fleets were indeed going to attend to you.  I'll take your draw, and gratefully.

Thank god that's over... The French end-of-game speech was already tendered decades ago, so I won't bother to repost it.  I will say that once I was out of the game in any meaningful sense, that I just threw in with the Turks who hadn't stabbed me quite as deeply as my German ally had.  Congratulations on your draw...

I will say that I had little interest in the Russian front, so I didn't bother to analyze the turns... if I had been paying closer attention, I would have pointed out the folly sooner.

Yeah, sorry about that Drach.  I could either stab you or Austria, and stabbing Austria opened my borders up to the Turk and Russia.

Yeah, I guess you're the right to blame here
Not my fault, by any means :???:

And Drach, you should have a message waiting. I also have a feeling your profile doesn't hold your real e-mail

Gentlemen,
As with Drach, I posted a broad overview of my plans and desires about 6 or 7 turns ago (when I thought victory conditions were 13 centers!)  And when time permits I'll post another "brief" rundown of my actions in this game, but for now (and the next couple of days) my work has become an annoying female dog!!!  So wait for it!  (It will feature an insane love of fleets, and the value of unblockable internal support, not to mention incredible good fortune!)  Until then...loose the dogs of war...(maybe I can get the "work based annoying female dog" to follow!)

Medvedov
