Diplomacy mod?

The features lists that Brytenwalda contains diplomacy, but I don't have any options as the ruler of my nation to form any relationships with other nations.

In Floris with Diplomacy, I'd be able to send gifts, attempt to form alliances, trade agreements, etc., but I don't see any of the options in Brytenwalda?

I hold 2 castles as the ruler.

Appointed a companion as what? I have appointed my wife as something or other and have no option of hiring any other staff members. I just want to make sure I have as many options available as possible!

When you started your kingdom it asked if you want to appoint a local nobleman or a companion as minister (or something), you obviously chose the nobleman. Now go and appoint your companion instead.
