You're complaining about the devs abandoning the game, yet continually making it worse. You say they're lying about working with the community to improve the game, in a topic that's literally a dev working with the community to improve the game. You're saying that the AI is getting unfair advantages against the player (which it isn't in this case), while complaining that beating the AI is too easy. It all seems pretty contradictory.

People angry because devs add some pretty small “cheats” in the game in order to improve the balancing, instead of redesigning the whole map xDDDD. Are you aware of the huge work which means redesigning the whole map in order to improve balancing? The 99,9% of the games use cheats in order to balance or increase difficulty, but Bannerlord is one of the games which uses less cheats and most of the time, the AI plays with the same rule than player or even at disadvantage. Please stop saying nonsenses and complaining about mexxico who is actually making and amazing job.
 
@musashii89 I am trying to be transparent and give you all information. I know this can create problems like this, in past it created, in Warband times I was giving and collecting info at forums too, this always created some minor problems. But even these risks I cannot be non-transparent as characteristic, I like sharing info and collecting info to reach best. I can keep this solution secret and then you never know it and never understand it. It will not effect your gameplay negatively. Lets say its a game rule applied to all kingdoms not only AI. There is nothing special to AI here. If only solution is redesigning map as you suggest it is a huge cycle and need to get approved (probably it will not) then I cant help players. If there is something small I can do which improves your gameplay I am trying to do find and apply them.

By the way we workers at TW did not took your money (we are regular workers like you all, I do not have any share (only a small amount from profit promised to all company)) or be AFK. You can see this game is not like my work its like a hobbie. Regular wage I am getting here is not important number. I am here nearly 24 hours a day (except 6 hour sleep). Thats why soon I will take an unpaid vacation (i used paid one after code refactor thing in July) and will be away for a time because I am spending so much time and actually it is meaningless because life (friends, family) is more important. If you are upset because of something you should make your adress correctly. You can be right about some critisism I have problems here too but I think this post is not right place. I am not the guy that took your money or be AFK after it. If you get angry about something if you think TW is AFK you can make your critisism about this in another post.

Anyway I like to discuss only developments this will be first and last things I wrote out of topic.

@musashii89 Maybe you need to take a break or find a different game? The game's had constant improvement and patches since launch and it seems like you're just grasping at straws to be angry about.

Take a walk or something. Maybe read a book or go fishing. Just something other than derailing a productive thread because you can't stop being whiny and emotional.
Your right, the game is deep, rich and immersive and getting better by the day. We should all be thankful for the gift we have been given.

Enjoy your vacation, it is very well deserved. You are doing amazing work here, but its extremely important to recharge batteries once in a while

Some people will never understand and some will always want more... Despite the intention some of us may behave in less civilized manner in the process . We all want this game to be excellent but nobody here has the right to say his/her ideas are better or speak for us all... Expressing that in more civilized and less demanding way will always help. @musashii89 may be right in some aspects but he clearly missed the point in many other concepts discussed here...

I spent many hours together in Warband, WF&S, VC + mods but joined the Community only recently for Bannerlord. I thought there is no way anybody from TW will listen what "common rabble" has to say.. :smile: How little did i know... One can question your methods but i find it an innovative and interesting way to develop games (proper discussion is rarely seen these days). You are doing great job mate and for most of us this doesn't have to be further explained. Everyone can clearly see your passion and dedication. And for many people here it is obvious you spent some crazy amount of time working and balancing this game. The fact you had to explain this isn't a good sign for us all.

Everyone working as hard as you deserved a proper rest and this is of no discussion. So have a great and fruitful vacation time and don't let yourself to be discouraged from continuing this excellent work.

P.S. Loud thinking... For statistically relevant feedback on your ideas - have you tried to poll them within community ? I simply wonder if this way has ever proven to be useful..

I opened several polls in past. However to open something to poll players should have experienced both options in long gameplays. In polls there become so much noise (answer without enough gameplay experience or answer without thinking how other mechanics are effected or answer to make his own gameplay routine more advantegous / profitable) and it can be hard to find right answer by looking what common answer is.

Just an Idea for sturgia which may help them when fighting valadia is

That would actually be very useful, and very easy to make. It could be a "architechture wonder of the fallen empire". you know: bigass bridge, build by the emperor some time ago. prooving how amazing empire was at building stuff. or smth like that.

There isn't a bridge there in Warband though and to be honest, having a bridge there I think would just make it worse for Sturgia, because then Vlandia will have an easier time attacking them without giving sturgia the extra time to defend.

One of sturgias issues is that its a very long and thin country, so travel time is very very long, which is just added on to the fact thats mostly an infantry faction
 
First, we have to take into account that forums do not reflex 100% what the majority want, so I do not really think that devs should be making polls before applying every change they consider a good idea.

The AI is not good enough in any game to be able to deal with the player, and to deal with some scenarios like snowballing in the same way that a player would do. People need too understand that these small changes are totally necessary and they actually won’t bother at all the player. I have played tons of games and there are a lot of cheats for the AI, and Bannerlord if for sure one of the games with fewer cheats for AI that I have played. In Bannerlord it is actually the player who is able to use more cheats like picking battles carefully avoiding that the AI gets reinforcements in battles, sieges, etc.

@mexxico Please ignore these non rational people a keep up with the great work. I love how communitive you are and I love how you make us feel part of this game design. Enjoy vacations and please do not get burned yourself reading angry people complaining about nonsenses, because sadly, they are everywhere.

I second this. Maybe there are some people that deserve complaints, but mexxico is on our side.

He works more than he have to, actually much more, and he is by far the most communicative person on TW, he shares code for us, take feedbacks every days and is transparent with his thoughts.

So please, if you need to hate someone, this is not the place.

Keep suggesting things and lets work together to make this a great game. Sadly I don't have enought experience on gaming in order to suggest things, but I am sure someone of you can focus on what matter and suggest mexxico wonderful things related to this topic.
 
How about giving all factions (except Sturgia) a morale loss(both party morale and the morale in battle) in cold weather? There is dynamic weather in the game but it has no use other than visuals. Armies in the past had to abandon sieges and had to end campaigns due to weather conditions. This can give Sturgians an advantage. They already move less slowly on snowy regions (I don't know if it is implemented yet) so it would make sense for the faction.

The first poll I saw by a dev was Mexico asking if caravans should be safe income or somewhat risky.

That sounds like a half-baked feature. To make it complete you would have to do the same for heat and other climates

Snow is already supposed to provide a move speed debuff with Sturgians getting a reduction to the penalty, although plans might have changed. Looking at the map, Sturgia is covered in woods, so it wouldn't be as much of a benefit as some might assume though.

Yes it would make sense to implement the same for hot weather and give Aserai an advantage too but they seem to do alright in my recent campaigns so far so I didn't want to make them have too much advantage. But I wouldn't say no if heat morale loss could be implemented with some balance. Having to provide drink in deserts or having to provide hardwood in cold weather could be cool too and would provide some depth to logistics.

This read below can give some insight about logistics on desert.

It felt weird for me to be able to chase desert bandits for days on Aserai desert. If we had to visit oasises for water supply, had to bring beer and wine(and maybe water if we get a feature to store it) it would make deserts in the game seem as dangerous places as they are in real life. And according to the text above, a nerf to the speed of horses on desert would make sense too which would give camels a use.

I have no problems to call out TW for whatever, but Mexxico doesn´t deserve this. Everyone should notice, that he is giving everything he has to improve the game.
