Hi,

So I bought this game, and now after playing it for some hours, I have encountered a number of issues, which I'd like to have explained.
1. How to buy more than one item of the same type for the same price (i.e. the price for Wine is 67, and I wanna buy 10 pieces). At the moment, every time I Ctrl+click on an item, the price for the rest of them will increase, which is ridiculous. Explanation ?
2. Price of some items is exaggerated, e.g. Bread or sausages are more expensive than slave ???
3. When I'm waiting in town (for 1 denar a night), clicking on a Quest, Character, Inventory, etc, throws me off to a menu instead of selected function, why ? Pressing a key seems to work, but it's pretty annoying.
4. If I'm to find, track and kill someone, why there's no way to ask people if they know/heard anything about my target? Is tracking just running around in hope of finding the target ?
5. Talking about Castles and graphics; does anyone here ever heard of lightmaps ?
6. Any plans to fix all these Castles floating in air ?

Cheers

Prices depend on supply. If a store has fewer units of an item, they will be more expensive per unit. As the number of units decreases, the price per unit increases.

Yep. Keep in mind, though, one stack of bread is enough to feed one man for almost two months.

Clicking ends the 'waiting' status of your party, which brings you back to the city menu.

Try the Tracking skill.

The castles are bumpmapped. In Warband, armors will be normal-mapped.

6. Any plans to fix all these Castles floating in air ?
What version of the game are you running? There shouldn't be any.

But I want to buy all of them for the price of the first one. I'm going to shop, I see the price and take all of them in one batch, not one by one, as if I'd be re-entering the shop 10 times for ten pieces. How much for that bread? 50. OK, I'll take 10. 10*50=500,
but in the game it's like:
1. How much for bread? 50. OK, I'll take it.
2. How much for bread? 55. OK, I'll take it.
3. How much for bread? 60. OK, I'll take it.
....

And that's the problem. Why it's not possible to manage my skills, inventory, quests, etc while waiting ? This is definitely against logic.

Thanks, will try that.

I can take some pics to demonstrate the issue, but in castles, while walking inside the city (not in the room), there's no light-mapping or real-time shadows.

It's version 1.010.

I agree, you should be able to buy in batches, or at least for them to give you a set price for a bulk buy, so you know exactly how much you are paying for 10 of 1 item.

And that's the problem. Why it's not possible to manage my skills, inventory, quests, etc while waiting ? This is definitely against logic.

It is logic for the party menu, because to view that you would have to gather your men together, but if they are all most likely in bed when staying at an inn, hence why clicking on the party menu exits the inn, so you have to pay the room charge again. But if you are viewing inventory, reports, characters or quests, i think you're right, it defies logic to exit if you want to view it. Does just pressing the hotkey work? I'm a simpleton and prefer to use the mouse so i wouldn't know.

Thanks, will try that.

I recommend hiring Deshavi as a companion, she has 3 tracking skill. It also means you can focus your points into more useful skills.

Not sure about that one... i play on low settings, and the only issue i have is a rendering issue, because i switched to directx 7 to increase the framerate. Other than that, i didn't expect much of this game graphically anyway. I'm sure there are mods that improve the graphics for people high end machines.

It's version 1.010.

On version 1.011 there is no floating castles. I'm not sure about 1.010 though. Its probably best to download the latest version (i don't think there is a direct patch from 1.010 to 1.011) 1.011 is not compatible with saves from 1.010 though, just to let you know.

No, 1.010 and 1.011 are exactly the same. 1.011 was just released to have savegame compatibility with 1.003.

For the tracking issue...it tells you in the quest description the exact village the target is hiding at.  Just look behind the buildings for a 'Nervous Man'.

I think he means the follow the spy quest. Once he leaves the settlement, unless you have a speed of like 6+ you won't even see him until he stops (unless you have a very high spotting skill), so you have to follow his tracks to the meeting place (the one where you have to capture both the spies and take them to the lord/king)

The spy meeting quest is a bugger anyway, I mean, you actually need Prisoner Management skill to do it.. They should either remove the need of prison management on this quest (it would be just like capturing enemy lords) or warn that you need prisoner management to preform it. I failed that quest for my king since I didn't have the skill, and he said:

"stygN Grimgore, you are by all means truly incompetent!" Luckely I already had 80 or so in disposition with him : P
