I changed my old topic from few days ago so ı wont take space. İn game ım a vassal with united kingdom. When ı was shopping ı noticed reinforced armor price of 142564 and than ı noticed a similar armor but it said plated and had 12000 price . They both had the same stats. What is the actual difference between this armor making one very expensive compared to the other. Noticed that weapons are the same aswell.

united kingdom? theres no such faction.

Probably the armor that costs 142564 is a lordly version of an armor than by default doesn't have those stats. It should be lighter than the 12000 one, which should [supposedly] enable you to move slightly faster [less encumbrance].

Btw "Plated" is no prefix like "Rusty" or "Reinforced", it's just part of the name of that armour. You can find "Reinforced plated surcoat" for example.

ı was wondering because when you get armors like that when normal ai hit you 0 damage but sometime you get very little damage. The names for the armor show different forms of metal like compress are easily damaged and ı thought maybe it handle percentage when you get the damage .

why do ı get damage when ı wear basic armor but when ı wear armor witch has metal in it swords are useless against it.

M&B does not recognize different types of armour (chain mail, plate, leather etc).

Check item's stats - better armors have more damage reduction...

It's true that they didn't separate armor type in to plate, leather, etc, but they did separete the type of damage which armor can absorb in to pierce, blunt, and cut.

You could do a lot of damage by stabbing, hammering, slashing a guy who wear leather armor.

You could do a little damage or 0 damage by slashing a guy who wear chainmail. You will still be able to do some damage to him by stabbing, and hammering him though. It's happen like this because chainmail have high resistance to "cut".

You could almost only do 0 damage to a guy who wear plated mail. Stabbing may cause a low damage to him, but it have high chance that he will not get stunted by your attack. Blut weapon could still do some damage and stunt him.  It's happen like this because plated surcoat over mail have high resistance to "cut" and "pierce".

Eventhough there really are a leather armor, a chain mail, and a plated surcoat over mail that has the same stats, they will still react similarly to what I mentioned above.

I've been wondering why all the mail armor is "plated mail" in shops.  It is nearly impossible to find anything else, and most of the "plated" mail does not look anything like actual plated mail.  Also, wouldn't plated mail armor have been fairly rare?  From what I understand, mail was the standard for those who afford it, with attached plates being a novelty for the wealthy and plate armor in general not really having been developed till much later.

I think you'll find the plate mail in the game is either a coat of plates (plates visible on the model) or a plated mail with surcoat, where I believe the plates were sewn into the surcoat. These are of course the most expensive methods of protection available, and are therefore displayed at the top of the shop window. Might explain why you see them more often, but generally there is a wide selection in all shops of your split between linen tunic all the way to lamellar plate.

No, there isn't a good selection.  The plated mail models which look like a surcoat are usually the only thing available.  There are sometimes a few models which appear to be mail with plates riveted into a cloth covering, which makes sense, and there are usually "cloth over mail" and various haubergeons and other types of mail armor but there are never any plain mail with surcoat models.  I have only been able to obtain those by having them awarded while enlisted in a lord's army. In any case, the plated mail models should be visibly distinguishable from a plain surcoat over mail, because plates attached to surcoats would have been riveted in place and easily visible under the fabric.  The plated mail which looks like a cloth surcoat with plates riveted into it looks appropriate, but most of the the plated mail is visually indistinct from a simple surcoat over mail.

Yes.  Except on the models that actually look like plated mail.  Those should remain "plated mail".  That is exactly what I was driving at.  I know it's a small issue more akin to a spelling error than a gameplay issue, but there it is.
