Probably good to keep pasta to a minimum though. Surprisingly calorific. Just do lots of fruitgetables and vegs. It's also a shame they drown everything in oil but it should be okay if you don't eat too much during the day.
Fish and fowl are also often concidered parts of the mediterranean diet, but vegetarian meals are also a good option. Like just boiling a couple of hundred grams of lentils, those fill you up like crazy.
