Did I balls this up? losing influence as mercenary clan

Started as a Merc, but then gave the banner to my now king.

Only... I'm still bleeding influence as though I was a mercenary clan (tool-tip says Mercenary Clans slowly convert influence to money)

So my question is, is this a bug? Or do I have to figure out how to not be a mercenary clan anymore and then, what, re-pledge my loyalty? Maybe kinda? haha

Mercenary clans receive the negotiated pay-rate for each influence point they possess, per day.
So if you joined that Kingdom for 100 gold, and you have 7 influence, over the next 7 days, you don't have to battle, and will receive the 100 gold as per negotiation.

If you join as a vassal instead of a mercenary, you will not receive that gold payment, but you will be able to receive fiefs when nominated and selected.
