I put in a bug report 23 months ago and this was brought to my attention that castle bound villagers deliver goods to your towns in all situations. Does anyone know when this was changed? I ran tests to prove it works now

They always delivered to the same town unless they were at war. I am assuming the change happened in 1.8 when they mentioned in the patch notes you can see where it delivers to in the tooltip but once again they don't tell us of the change.

That's really interesting.
I always thought the villagers were simply delivering to the nearest town, but with this change it makes a noticeable difference.
As you said, owing castles around cities is now far more interesting for the player.
You own one city and 2 nearby castles and you could get like 7 villages delivering to your single town market...

Finally had time to watch your video. Now I get it. Really interesting. Need to try that city+surrounding castles ownership in my new playthru. Thanks for bringing this up 😎

someone said they had 1 town but 7 castles so all those goods coming to the 1 towns was making hem rich, it opens up so many ideas for food and for workshops

Yeah sounds really good and finally gives a little bit more value to castles.

other person told me that if you get a castle and can leave it with no garrison and only militia they have the opportunity to make you 1k-2k a day in income as well.

Depends also on whose faction belong the other towns in the vinicity but yes i’ve noticed and found interesting
