The world of Bannerlord is an unforgiving place and whether peacefully trading or engaging in warfare, players will rely on troops to stand and fight by their side in order to achieve their goals. In this week’s blog, we take a look at how players will go about raising their own army in Bannerlord by discussing the game’s recruitment system.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/62

I honestly would really appreciate an honest blog post plainly stating where exactly you guys are in development. After that you can go back to the regularly scheduled interviews and posts that are barely informative, but please tell us what is going on. We've waited 6 years and we'll happily wait 6 more if we have to, but please just be transparent about how much has been done and how much more needs to be done. Please.

Yeah I agree I like these little snippets even though they are a let down sometimes, but I still look forward to them. But the problem is while its a development blog I really have no idea where its at development-wise. Yall did say finishing touches a year or two go. Really want a percentage or something, or a check list/to-do-list?

Neat. Got a question, will we be buying things like siege equipment (balista, catapult etc) from these notables too, along with its crew, or from some specialized shop? How about cavalry? Can they be recruited from them aswell?

Dear Callum when can we expect a blog about battle formations? am I the only one interested? I seriously want to know how they are improved since last videos and I would like to know if AI is able to use more complex formations like shield wall with spears or pike formation.
thanks.
Im also interested in this
This is the most in-depth information they ever released, concerning battle formations. if you're interested.
https://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/News/174
Advanced Formations – Merge and split forces at your behest, with intuitive but powerful control over the movement, form and behavior of every unit! Order heavy infantry to hold together, shoulder-to-shoulder in a slowly advancing but near impenetrable shield wall; or launch your cavalry in lightning charges using the skein formation.
Battlefield AI – AI commanders can execute complex tactics, utilizing the advanced formation options to present a formidable challenge. Their behavior is drawn from actual historical tacticians, for example Alexander the great, who used his superior cavalry forces to rout their counterparts in the opposing army, before delivering a crushing blow to the enemy’s main force. This not only creates the feeling of an authentic medieval battle but also proves effective in-game, as in reality.

Whatever makes you happy 说:

In this image it is seen that the infantry maintains the formation better

It's funny that people here think that TW has some kind of special obligation towards the fans. Does it really matter if the game will be released or not? No.

Companies will always encounter certain problems, but there is no need to be rude och childish about it

You are assuming they have set goals to work towards. I'd imagine their goals are rather evolving as evident by the huge feature/graphical quality leaps displayed each year.

It seems I'm the only one here who's okay with their game design decisions.

Nah, you're not.
he’s not the only one or he’s not okay?

I also have faith in TW to make a great game. I’m a fan of their decisions so far and they’ve never let me down yet.

+1

I doubt I’d like to see 16.3 horses in a final release - what’s 0.3 of a horse?

Day 37-
Group Inventory: 40 men, 70 pounds of food, 20 horses
The early snows have trapped us in the mountain pass... with no chance of escape for another three months and our supplies running low we have started eyeing our four-legged companions.

Day 42-
Group Inventory: 40 men, 0 pounds of food, 16.3 horses
...

I should have known TW had a reason for it!

I wonder how fast three-legged horses move on the campaign map.

Taleworlds will making a good realistically medieval RPG, also they don't give a release date because game not is still finished, also ask devs for historical accuracy is absurd

I think recruitment system deserve another blog cause this one is very short and badly explained.

Their explanations are overall badly.
You hardly be able to understand the exact thing.
Maybe they are doing it on purpose so that we are going to have to discover these ourselves(though I dont think they think this deep).

Imagine you're at a restraunt, you ask for food, If it's any good you'll eat it, pay for it, maybe pay a little more if the place was exceptional (or you're in a country where it's obligated...)

Now, you're at a restraunt. You've asked for food. They tell you they're making your food. Every now and then waiters come out to tell you that the food's coming, though every now and then they drop off hints that the food isn't coming, the food won't be that good, and once one of the waiters even dared to say that British Kebabs>The Kebabs of anywhere else. The last reassurance was rushed and they showed a WIP side that'll be apparently different when they make the food.
Now, in some countries it's bad taste to complain so openly, but if you're being played around by the restaurant, you might as well be loud.

Ultimately. Complaints about how things are done are constructive, even if not particularly accurate or individually helpful they grant a general understanding that wrong is being done.
Complaints about conplaints are just denial, and they serve no purpose. Nobody's going to think you're a great guy if you're reprimanding people when your only obvious intention is to look good. People see through that.

Bad analogy. If we’re talking restuarants, all TW have promised is to open a fancy new resturant at a particular location sometime in the future. If they hit snags, why would any customers queue outside a construction site, demanding food? They haven’t accepted any table bookings.

I hope you make the skins for carectors more real .. like unreal engine the skins in fifa or bf looks soo real .. i hope you do this in game to fell more a live ???✊

I like these restaurant analogies. I felt like i was listening to two sophists arguing - once i read the first analogy,i completely agreed with it, then when i read the other, oposing side, i agreed with it too. ?

Come on just tell us the truth... This is getting beyond ridiculous at this point. You don't have to give a release date, but atleast tell us people who've been waiting for Bannerlord for years how far you are and what's left to be done. This current thing is no good for anyone neither the fans or yourselves.

And regarding this blog I personally don't like these changes. It makes a lot more sense that because a village has a positive opinion of you people there is more inclined to join you! Notable persons could perhaps work for cities and be a way of hiring mercenaries.

If you want to have different kind of recuirtment then it should be determined by the villages, is the economy focused around lumber/wood then the peasent would be more used to work with axes hence most of the recruits would be melee/infantry. Is the economy based around hunting then archers would make sense and so forth. Also if the village has a blacksmith and a good economy the villagers/peasents should be better equipped.

If players then have their own fief they should be able to influence these things to get their wished troops, where's a good economy will lead to better equipped ones.

Also a little suggestion would be to have a population for a fief. This way the player can try to build up 1 good fief instead of relying on several ones. 1 fief with 800 villagers and a great economy would be better than 4 with 200 each and poor economy etc. It would also add the satisfaction to focus on building up your own holdings without relying on conquering more stuff. It's basically options for the player! Imagine the satisfaction of making your little fishing village into a thrieving city rivalling the capital of the kingdom/faction.

Maybe as Taleworlds not give release date because wish as we playing Warband still some years since here. Recruitment changes are worst than in Warband or Total War games, I love to see castle/town system

Yes, a very bad one indeed.

Of course people can make suggestions and give critique, but some are just complaining for the sake of it. Ultimately, TW is the losing part in the end if they post bad blogs, not marketing enough or maybe not even releasing the game. But it's just a videogame in the end and therefore i think people need to relax a bit.

But Imagine they sent out fliers to the neighboring residence and people who like such restaurants: "we'll have this food, we'll do that food, the tables will look like this, We will have knives in our restaurant, we will have forks in our restaurant and Sugar>Salt, here's some concept art. This employee will tell you all about what he works on and what he loves in this restaurant, here's what a menu won't look like because we haven't finished that bit..." and somehow they've been building this place for seven years.

I live above a place where they charge £10s for a frozen burger, the beer is in cans, and they are rarely not empty. The decor of the place wasn't cheap, the owner is infamous for not knowing how to do things, and they spent most of the year closed not knowing what to do. The problems are different but you can draw parallels.

And often, defending taleworlds is nonsense.

Look, I love my little brother, but he's a foolish person, and I'm not going to defend my brother from something as little as mean comments if he did something to deserve them.

I love M&B and I love warband, and I'm thankful to taleworlds for providing me with an entertaining investment; But there's no reason to defend taleworlds from something as little as mean comments if they did something to deserve them.

Forum grade Scrutiny is hardly going to hurt taleworlds, and brown nosing will hardly benefit you.

Sorry for the dumb question, but what is a "restraunt"?
