[parsehtml]

Last week, we had the pleasure of attending Gamescom to present a hands-on demo of the singleplayer sandbox campaign of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord for the first time. Attending this kind of event is a lot of work, but at the same time, we had a lot of fun! More than 500 journalists, YouTubers, streamers, and even fellow developers from other companies came to our booth in the 3 days that we were present at the event. It was great having the opportunity to show what we are doing and it was humbling to see everyone so excited about the game!

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/75

Let me start by saying that there is some great feedback in this thread and we are taking all of your comments onboard. Honestly, we really appreciate these kinds of discussions.

In next week's blog, we will try to cover the major topics and questions that have come out after Gamescom and then follow up on some of the others directly here on the forums. I'm sorry to have to make you wait like that, but hopefully, our answers will make it worth the wait.

idk about you guys, but I for one can't stand vanilla M&B anymore, just like I can't stand any DLC expansions in vanilla state anymore.
You may ask why, and I shall answer accordingly:

Basically the game's old, meaning it's magic is long gone and there are features that became essential for the Genre TW has created, such features include some that are within mods created by the community (total conversions and feature mods like diplomacy), but many are beyond anyone's capability due to the fact that the engine is way too old and doesn't support 90% of the things that come to mind when I think about what the game needs to be atm.

Would you care to elaborate on the specific features that you consider "required" for the game?

Oh, diplomacy feats, politics. Shield bashing, the whole of formations mod, more in-depth fief upgrades where you can actually hold a single fief and still be useful, tactical sieges (already in BL), tactical choices included in the famous formations mod, less stiff combat (seems to be in BL already), no attack ghosting for PC or NPC alike, naval battles (confirmed to be in BL in the future), crafting (in BL already), structural armies (I'd say tis there already with the new mercenary support), more in-depth quests (in BL already), so on so forth. Some of these can be found in existing mods for WB, some are impossible to achieve in it's engine. Basically WB isn't nearly as good as it could, for it's time it was, but now it isn't.
Falando nisso, é sempre maneiro ver outro huebr no forum. Seria vc um ex-colega de faculdade meu? Ou seria vc apenas outro perdido no mundo dos games q n fazem sucesso no Brasil?

So what was the point of this post? To announce to the whole forum what most people have already said? That you're sick of this s**t but you can't stop coming to TW hoping for release? Did posting this help you feel better? I'm not trying to sound like a ****, but its more tiresome to read posts like this than it is to wait for BL.

Aaaawww, poor you, been here for less than 6 months having to endure all of this ranting from people who have accounts that are nearly a decade old...
Btw, I do this insistently so I get noticed by who matters, meaning that the idea is to get through the thick walls of useless information from other posts into someones' eyes. At least I managed to do so without getting repetitive on the arguments.

Snip

So please Callum, can you give anything meaningful towards the EA info? If not, can you please pressure Armagan to say something and avoid evasive "confirmations" without a date nor an approximate time frame?

It’s ironic that your disappointment with Warband’s lack of depth goes hand-in-hand with your irritation with TW for the time they’re taking to add depth to Bannerlord.

maybe if you were around before 2016 you'd get it. BL was developed to nearly completion at least twice by now, scraped and redone for no sensible reason at all. Idk what they are trying to achieve, but the game's development was botched too many times already, else it'd be available even before you've signed into these forums... At first these were speculations, in the past I've pressured for it seeking the info if that was really happening, at the time I didn't collect on that info but now I know it did happen. (I was the first to suspect that was going on due to the fact that I do have minor formation in Game Design and I know how development works). If they don't give any sort of ETA that means that they can scrap the project yet again for no reason at all and it'll stall the release for another 5 years at least. It's quite annoying, still I don't really believe I'll still be coming back for M&B in 5 years, I'm getting old and I do have more important things to do, still my inner-child's still kicking, so I keep coming back yet. Anyway, it would be worth it if the game was a reality, so far it isn't, it's just an over-announced project.
These delays are not due to adding depth to BL but due to poor management skills, simple as that, so the whole shbang of saying they are taking time to add depth isn't really cutting by now, yet you can keep seeking excuses for them, I just don't get why so many people are so apologetic with a company in which they don't even work...

I guess Einstein hinted, but I've never really believed him. I'm starting to change my mind though...

I agree, this guy is a paradox

There are some paradoxes happening, yes, one of them is why are you so inclined to welcome me with aggression all the time (don't know you, and you're just a kid, are you trying to prove yourself by picking on older people so you can feel more grown up or something?)

The second would be your English skills in which I don't believe you can quite understand 50% of the things I talk about, given how poor your posts are regarding the language itself. I can figure out what you say most of the time due to the fact that I speak 4 languages, so I can pick up on different language logistics to construct whichever idea you are trying to express, but you seem to not get what I say most of the time, and I can't explain it to you because idk if I know your mother language, or if I can try some other. At any rate, when I didn't fully know english I wouldn't try to argue or discuss things, I was much more concerned with proper understanding of whatever was said by others, I didn't even focus on my own opinion over matters because I wouldn't know better, nor could I express myself in a comprehensive way. This leads to another thing, and I have to ask, are you picking on me just so you may be liked by other people in the forums? If that's the case you are aiming towards the wrong direction, it's better to make friends than to try teaming up for short and superficial feelings of belonging.

We don't take kindly to any sort of elitism based baiting/trolling/flaming. Do not continue with it.

(I.e. any age, language, registration, competitive skill, etc. based attacks to deny another user the discussion.)

well, I've got attacked, I've simply rose up to the challenge and defended myself given no body seemed to care that I was getting kind of flamed here. That could be for N number of reasons, including biased moderation, still I'm not onto continuing with such petty fights over sad arguments to dis-construct my criticism, my single objective here is getting info about some sort of ETA, even if clouded and imprecise. I bet there are others who'd like that info too but are not as willing to go through the hassle of asking, since anyone who asks is instantly bashed by newcomers or boot-lickers... The main reason of making such convoluted posts though is to grab attention, which I usually am successful at, unfortunately it hasn't given results, but then again it's out of my reach, or anyone's for that matter. We cannot control what people do with information we give, rule number one of being a human.

Blanket insults are a no-go as well. Take a few days off.

If you feel that you were flamed, you should report the posts in question. The posts you quoted did not appear like that to me but I will be happy to leave any report you issue to another moderator.

I wonder if there will be any other surprises like perks?.

Maybe it might have something to do with character creation?, before we saw perks I found it peculiar that we hadn't seen anything about the character screen, despite it being a big part of the game, and I guess we know why now.

So far we haven't really seen anything regarding character backstory, which isn't really that weird but I would still like to see it.

It may not be as necessarily important as the character screen but it's something all players will have to deal with at least once (if they play single player). I can't think of any would-be surprises that could come up but doesn't mean there isn't any.

Só se você fez Letras, Direito ou História nos últimos 10 anos hahaha é muito provável que sejamos seres perdidos por aqui.

But, indeed, elitist gatekeeping does not behoove a serious discussion
Most people here have played far longer than their date of registration, myself included, and age means little, unless you're overr a century old, then your age matters.

Most likely there are surprises in the game yet to come. However i do not think it would be good for them to say.much about backstory, unless it really has game-changing new features. It is likely that char creation and backstory are essentialy the same as before, so talking about it could generate unnecessary backlash (it's still the same) or it could potentially spoil things before the game is out. It's always dangerous to talk story stuff here... but it would be amazing to have dozens of backstories that create different limitations and special circumstances...

Damn it aches to type this on a phone...

 If I wouldn't be a frigging Squire I would join the Grandmaster Knights against elitism movement. It's in the engine man!

Did I get correct that the game is almost ready, we just have to wait until the end of the 16 years straightforward development of mid and later parts of the gameplay?

if the following blog answers the questions. then I have one on lor, so Ortongard captured by the Sturgia city (only this faction has cities ending in "gard")

finally some videos

Btw there'is a little addition that i hope it was in the game which's colored and more specific faction borders when you zoom out the map as in the following :

Before

After
image.jpg

the i dea is every occupiable sattelment has a surrounding area following it when occupied the borders alter, just like other strategy medieval games :
New_Project_1.jpg

Having vague borders as in warband was frustrating especially when controlling scattered sattelments like this

something simple like this make the game much better for the eye and make u feel ur achievments
