This is something we have some experience with from our previous title, Mount & Blade: Warband, so we are fully aware of the value of including our community at this stage of development. Our preparations have been proceeding quite nicely and we thought it would be a good idea to share what we have been up to in this period.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/116

only 1 year left #believe

I think it's 1.5 years to be honest.
9 months to finish the game, 6 months to optimize and 3 months to wrap things up.

Yeah I say 1.5-2. Still, it seems like there is finally some light at the end of the tunnel... Unless that's the TW's employees' flashlights as they head back towards us to say "go back, there's no way out!" :iamamoron:

I can’t see it being more than 1.2 years. You have to keep in mind how long this game has been in development, it can’t be that far off, the game looked playable in 2017...

I say this not out of optimism but out of pragmatism. Think about it, what can they really do that they haven’t already done? I’d say 4 months until open beta, 4 months to fix issues and 4 months to release.

****, it looked playable in '16, and we were told to expect the game in our hands in some form by the end of that year, yet here we are. Game development does not follow a linear path, and TW's doesn't seem to want that kind of path.

Point is, we still have (apparently) a game that is not "feature or content" rich (somewhat paraphrased), and in clearer terms some mid, and most end game SP still "needs work" (with no indication of how much work). While we are certainly close now, it is important to take "close" with a grain of salt, and remember that, while MP is in beta, SP still has a little ways to go apparently.

Please allow me the opportunity to be a part of the beta team. You guys are the best for making this game, seriously.

Members have made some really interesting points, now that i think of it, most likely scenario is bit longer open beta for multiplayer, while we wait for singleplayer, which is not half-bad really.
I wish will be picked for that extended closed beta, but i think my luck has run out when i got picked for Battlefield 5 closed beta 1 AND 2.
Also i have a baby boy now so my playing time would be probably 2-3 hours a day easy or 3-5 hours a day TOPS,and that is only if i deprive myself of sleeping a bit at the end of the day when everyone is asleep, and i think they should give closed beta to students or something that can play it for 10 hours straight so we can have better statistics and thus a better game after it ends.
Only thing i can think of as me being superior to others for a closed beta are my crazy skills in M&B (especially bow archery), only 1/3 games i was finnishing outside of the top 3 players on the scoreboard of my team.
Another thing is that i always try to "break the game" with climbing places, people and horses on most unexpected locations and try to get myself and others stuck to see what happens, trying to push the game's limits
. Other than that, and the fact that i dont know how my skills in Warband will relate to Bannerlord, im really not a great first choice for a closed beta, but an open beta i eagarly await !!!

Seeing this makes me think of all the times I said "Nah, I won't involve myself in the community, It's not like it will pay off in the next 5 years." But it's never too late to start I guess, what's up complainers- I just moved into my apartment so I can finally upload my sick profile picture. Lemme know what the beta is like- I'll be over here crying!!! :iamamoron:

The true question is this: is a release date in sight or shall it be a long time before this games release? Just curious because I really want to play this awesome game and sharing potential release even if it gets delayed later on can keep someone’s feet pretty warm at night.

The problem is that's bit them before. I'm 2016 we were told to "expect the game in [our] hands in some form by the end of the year", and a similar statement was made in 2017. When neither of these happened, a lot of people got very upset, claiming TW's was lying and other such things. After that, TW's has been very wary about giving any kind of indication about release. Hopefully we're approaching a period where they can give us some sort o indication.

With due all respect, I don't want some sort of indication. When I open Bannerlord steam page, I want to see official release date. Before they are confident to do so, I don't wanna hear their honest(I belive they were) release date guesses. I would rather to hear "when it is ready" than some sort of indication.

Everything we saw back in 2017 was nothing more than a vertical slice of the game.

The game was just some sort of proof of concept or playable demo if you wish to call it this way.
Far, far away from being a commercial-off-the-shelf product.

Perhaps it was far off back then, but it most certainly can’t be now. Two years is a long time to work on a game, and say what you will of the game back then, it was somewhat playable since, you know, they played it.
