Honestly though, what is taking so long? The devs have used up their "polishing the game excuse" it doesn't take 8 years to make a game lol
Hey, at least you know it's coming. You know what game entered my head today? Half Life. It's been 15 years,
and I'm pretty sure valve intended to churn out episode 3 in less than half a year or something.
-It's warband+
-Battle AI is much better
-It's more optimised
-Factions are more balanced (presumably, they'd have to be for captain's mode)
-the graphics are good.
-The economy is active and lords react to it. Quests make sense
-enemy lords do everything the player does.
-More equipment slots.
-Improved Seiges
-Factions have subfactions that can go to war so that a player can presumably get their faction's equipment quicker.
-recruitment is different. New system will be good for mods.
-more mount variation. Great for mods. (flying mounts please?)
¬Heir system. Ok, I guess some players wanted that. Works for mods.
Problems to fix:
/Same reinforcement system as warband
/There's a lot of things about joining battles and such in warband that are incredibly unintuitive and often frustrating, and we've not got any word on them. Yes, this is a vague issue, but an important one
/Civilians are very drab and nobody has made nice cultural art/clothes.
I think, logically, they should do whatever I've got a / and then balance/optimise/debug the game, then release. The Game'd be out any time now (and taleworlds would be swimming in it for a sequel). But hey, if they only cared for money, the optimum way would've been to make the game look nicer, improve AI, optimise things, fix sieges, Fix the /issues, debug then release. They've done a whole lot of difficult things with maybe less reward than that're worth, but maybe long term those things will be good for the ten stand alone expansions they release in the next seven years...
