However, in Bannerlord, battles aren’t a simple numbers game. With the right units and tactics, encounters that seem hopeless can be turned to your advantage. But, a wise commander wouldn’t throw away the lives of their troops as part of a learning experience; they would do everything in their power to increase their chances of success by improving their tactical knowhow.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/94

Question(s) for the Audio Blog:

Is there any hope for immersive "chatter" from characters in the world? Soldiers yelling and calling out during battle? Civilians hawking wares in town?

Positional audio, how much attention is being paid to a truly 3D sound scape? Where sounds echo off walls, or become muffled if there are objects between the camera and audio sources.

Gonna ask Delinard or Calamity to level you up, John.

Done.

On topic for Ugurcan Orcun: What was your inspiration for the Bannerlord soundtrack? What makes it different/better than Warband?

Finally, as someone who likes the Witcher 2/3 and the composer (Marcin Przybyłowicz) who do you look up to in your profession?

I gave up on bannerlords releasing a long time ago, now I take joy and pleasure in the wait , that one day it will release , and when I sometimes find it hard to sleep, I simply start imagining stuff I would do when the game releases , , so taleworlds can take all the time they need, game looks great though , love the design of the sliders and such , feels well made and full of love and sweat . But please 2020 should be the date , I fear I might turn chunibiyo before that....

Ok, so it's exactly the same as in Warband. We just get to be a captain, settlements have walls with health, siege engines, sally out, sides priority are new things.

Also 500 men per side seems to be default army size limit, not bad. I just fear my computer won't actually be bale to do that.

Will we be able to fight against all factions, including outlaws, mercenaries? Will we be able to actually choose the types of units, not just the ratio of cav to archers to infantry? Will we be able to choose every scene in the game or just 3 presets? Will modded factions and troops be available automatically or do they need to be specified in separate files to appear?

Custom Battles with actual, full control would be a great tool for modders to balance their games with rigorous and convenient testing.

@Ettencrocal

Good idea! Custom Battles demo would be nice.
Also, perfect avatar.

Nice blog but its almost as same as in Warband so meeh.
Keep up the good work though :fruity:

Yeah, they definetly should add so you can choose troops instead of just ratio, I was sorta expecting that

Questions for Ugurcan Orcun:

1) Is Bannerlord getting any original soundtrack?
2) Are sound effects recorded by TaleWorlds or are them taken from some sort of repository?
3) It's been some time since we heard about voice acting in the single player campaign. Is it a thing yet? There will be any lipsync?
4) Can the player character voice be changed? If so, from how many options could the player pick? Can it be disabled?

1; ill give you a link to the blog: https://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/11
2; No idea but they prolly do that themselfs
3; There is some voice acting but they wont tell each line I do not think no
4; yes it can be changed. They have a couple of voices, just watch any character creation video.

Don't you think it's time to actually release useful blogs? Why are we discussing dialogue camera and custom battles in 2019? Almost every blog so far with the exception of Faction blogs has been pretty much filler blogs, with little to no information or information recycled and re-written from interviews or conventions. We are closing up on a decade.

and what do you suggest they discuss? 100% everything we can do, all easter eggs and that too so we can not enjoy the game for ourselfs?
Or maybe they should discuss stuff they havent done, or stuff that they will change later?

and what do you suggest they discuss?
I suggest they talk about what they have been doing this past week. Things about the developement, what they are working on, like other game companies sometime do.
And for next blog I suggest they talk about how the team is fixing that aserai_town_a

Honestly though, what is taking so long? The devs have used up their "polishing the game excuse" it doesn't take 8 years to make a game lol

Hey, at least you know it's coming. You know what game entered my head today? Half Life. It's been 15 years, and I'm pretty sure valve intended to churn out episode 3 in less than half a year or something.

-It's warband+
-Battle AI is much better
-It's more optimised
-Factions are more balanced (presumably, they'd have to be for captain's mode)
-the graphics are good.
-The economy is active and lords react to it. Quests make sense
-enemy lords do everything the player does.
-More equipment slots.
-Improved Seiges
-Factions have subfactions that can go to war so that a player can presumably get their faction's equipment quicker.

-recruitment is different. New system will be good for mods.
-more mount variation. Great for mods. (flying mounts please?)
¬Heir system. Ok, I guess some players wanted that. Works for mods.

Problems to fix:
/Same reinforcement system as warband
/There's a lot of things about joining battles and such in warband that are incredibly unintuitive and often frustrating, and we've not got any word on them. Yes, this is a vague issue, but an important one
/Civilians are very drab and nobody has made nice cultural art/clothes.

I think, logically, they should do whatever I've got a / and then balance/optimise/debug the game, then release. The Game'd be out any time now (and taleworlds would be swimming in it for a sequel). But hey, if they only cared for money, the optimum way would've been to make the game look nicer, improve AI, optimise things, fix sieges, Fix the /issues, debug then release. They've done a whole lot of difficult things with maybe less reward than that're worth, but maybe long term those things will be good for the ten stand alone expansions they release in the next seven years...

I don't want to bash on the developement time of Bannerlord (not now), but Valve can stop working on a project and work on other project. They don't have one single and only project.

But that's not the point. The point is aserai_town_a. Yes, I won't stop talking about it until it's fixed !

I suggest they start doing something useful with the blogs. If you honestly think dialogue camera deserved a blog for example then I don't know what to say, and this is not insulting, I just wonder how you can get satisfied with a blog that is clearly filler and holds no information at all, except from camera. Which is useless at this point to know considering we dont get to play the game and cannot catch its feel to form an opinion. What I suggest is that they start doing blogs on what changed in certain aspects from previous blogs. For example the village upgrading system is gone. There are still many worries about the skirmish multiplayer mode. We know nothing of depth for any faction leader, or clans, except brief descriptions. The perks system we saw in multiplayer. The general idea of new skill trees and how they plan to make them work. What kind of quests do we expect apart from the already shown caravan quest. How enterprises will work. The crafting system that nearly everybody forgot by now. The worries of players for combat's slower feints, shield bash, kick. The progress on character customization. There is a ton of information that could spark discussion and communication. But instead we are satisfied, nearly 2-3 years later from the start of blogs with how the ****ing camera works. I mean come on. And this custom battles blog is lackluster aswell. Look, I am not saying that they need to spoil everything to the last bit or do such a presentation that will ultimately hurt the first experience of each player. But this has been a joke to say the least.

I believe if they speak about what they have done in just 1 week, you will all be much more dissapointed on these blogs

Am I the only one who found Carfid's crossy chest piece similar to He-Man's?

It is a rather artistic re-interpretation of a harness or breastplate but it does not move away too much from the always criticized "historiographic rigor"... Personally I see it right... the question you must ask yourself is because you see He-man relationship and not Celt-iberian-Samnite-Punic and Roman relationship. :shifty: :iamamoron:

+1
Personally I am more of the calm criticism but always from the respect. Independent of that...well said.
