Although most of our development effort goes into battles and combat, we also want to offer players alternative gameplay. Be it a plot to betray a king, a dynastic marriage, or just a way to handle a thorny conflict between your bickering subjects, skilled persuaders can find solutions to solve problems and save a bit of wear-and-tear on their sword-edges.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/91

That's literally the system we have in Warband now. There is nothing that points toward player-owned caravans.

HUMMAN was very impressed with this paragraph, so much so that I was infected by his optimism. :iamamoron:

“For a medieval game that fuses elements of strategy and action RPG gameplay, the campaign is as non-linear as it can get. Players are completely free to choose their own actions. The game does not force you into a fixed path. You can do any quest that you find enjoyable. If you are not really into fighting, you can play more like a trader than a warrior, establishing productive enterprises, sending out caravans and proposing kingdom policies that support merchants etc. If you are more of a warrior, you can amass a colossal army and conquer the whole realm. You decide who you’ll marry, how your clan will persist through generations and which child of yours will inherit your legacy.

"Send out cavarans" sounds good!

I guess it was not clear that the "2022" reference was satirical...I hope.
2020 was already satirical 5 years ago. Today, 2022 is very very reasonable.

wasnt it 2018 Gamescom where they said it ?
I think it was earlier... when it was supposed to be in the player's hand in any shape or form by the end of the year.
2022 is getting optimistic......

Make no mistake: they do not put out a release date because they are not capable.
To have a release date, a company needs to schedule meetings and to set goals...

But that's only theorical. They have to have a meeting date first

They have been on vacation for Christmas and New Years. Try to keep up.

At the end of this dev blog: "And that’s it for 2018 folks! We will be back in the New Year with more blogs (with the next one due on the 10th of January), so make sure you follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook to keep up to date with all the latest Bannerlord news as we march ever closer to that elusive release date. We hope that you all have a wonderful time over the festive season!"

(please, give us the demo as said after gamescom)

After gamescom? In August? It better not take that long to get the "demo" the full game better be out by then. If I have to wait 8 months to get the demo and not even the full game. I'm giving up. I was there when the announced this ****. I was a teenager. Now I'm a father of 2. I've seen battles and gameplay years ago where everything looked nice. Warband was the most biggest game I have played and one of the best but if this game honestly comes out in the last 3 months of this year I'm not buying it.
i you add a coma where there is no one, you understand :
"please give us demo as said, after gamescom (2019)"

when i just say :
"please give us the demo, as said after gamescom (201:cool:" !

They officially say after 2018 gamescom that they will give us the demo, due to it's success at gamescom. Still waiting !...

video of a grey haired guy with glasses answering to questions. Published after gamescom. Will try to find it. And/or read it in a blog few after gamescom.

Please link it, otherwise that source is as valid as an email informing you that you inherited millions of dollars from a distant relative.

Will the game release in Early Access?
We feel that some form of Early Access would be beneficial for getting community feedback and balancing game elements. It would also allow dedicated fans to access the game sooner. Therefore our intention is to take this path at some point, however, we do not have a specific time frame for this.[/quote]

Armagan dismissed releasing the demo:

Many thanks to everyone for their comments. The team here is working really hard to get the demo ready for Gamescom and we really appreciate your support.

Just to clarify a few things, the build we'll have in the booth will be different from the current development build in that, some features and pieces of content have been disabled. There are mainly two reasons for this. First, we want to focus our efforts on polishing the features that will be of most use in the demo. Disabling the rest allows us better manage our resources and time. Second, we do not want to reveal all the features and content in a single demo. We'd rather leave a good portion of the game as a surprise.

Here's a list of some of the things that are missing/disabled:
Sieges
Crafting
Character generation
Kingdom and town management
About 2/3 of town scenes. We selected 2 town scenes per culture and all towns will be showing those.
Most companions are disabled. There will be around 10 that are available.
About 2/3 of planned perks are not yet implemented.

The suggestion to release this version as a demo sounds interesting, but that doesn't fit any existing model and it would take a lot of time and effort to hammer out the details and make this work. I would rather put that effort into development and do a proper early access version.
