The majority of the blog information could of been stated years ago, at least then fans wouldn't be waiting for a release date or gameplay footage as we could respect that as developers you don't want to limit yourselves. After years of little to no communication with the community it's too late to try and fix it now. This game is destined to be dead on release, as much as it hurts to admit that.
The majority of the blog information
was stated years ago; I think they've said before that they don't want to rush it and aren't beholden to anyone so can take their time. It is also common sense that they aren't just twiddling their thumbs or delaying the release, since outside of illogical conspiracy theories such behaviour doesn't make any sense. Saying the game is destined to be dead on release is preposterous, people are still going to like it if it is a good game. There is no sign of any other game like Bannerlord on the horizon so there is no reason to think its place in the market will have been usurped in the next year or two.

Sounds like mid development hell to me, unrealistic features and advances that the team cant accomplish.
What unrealistic features and advances are you speaking of?

Are you guys ****ing Joking? What a bunch of bull****. Ive gone througb this thread and seen the people saying "oh thats ok, i understand." And all i can say is ARE you ****ing serious? Your game is abso-****ing-lutely in development hell. It wont be out this year, it wont be out next year. If your lucky it may come out in 2019. But dont hold your breath because a very good chance exists that this game will die. "Other companies put out release dates, but we dont work like that." Because your obviously bad at business... the reason companies put a release date on games is not to rush developement or give the devs a deadline so they can make money. Its for you the consumers, you get a release date so that you know when the game is coming out so you can save, trade and get hyped for it. So you can have reassurance that this game WILL come out. Its so you have faith that there will be a game. So far im seeing a nice pet project that has no faith behind it. It tells me this game is already a disappointment and that you may never release it. And if and when you do it will be like throwing a rain drop in the ocean. No one will ****ing care by that point and the majority of the player base and fans will have left. I love the mount and blade series, i have played them all multiple times and enjoyed them. It is because i like this series so much that this pisses me off to no end. Not because you wont give me my release date but because you've proven there is no faith behind the game and thus killed any remaining hype i had for bannerlord. I now wont buy the game on launch and i doubt ill notice if and when it does. Best of luck and hopefull you learn.
How does that make sense? 'No faith behind the project'? Clearly they do have faith, otherwise they wouldn't be spending so much time and money on it....you talk as if they've gone from making a couple of games to saying "we aren't going to try very hard to make another game...though we will spend years on it, massively increase the size of the team and produce impressive content that is far superior to Warband to showcase at numerous international gaming conventions. But, as I said, this isn't a game with faith behind it and we will probably not release it for some illogical reason that I won't go into."
And release dates very much
are, principally, for the publishers to make money. They want a timeline for when they are going to make money on the game they've agreed to promote and distribute, and throughout gaming history it has been no secret that various projects have been rushed or abandoned because they weren't going to meet arbitary (in terms of the practicalities of developing a game) deadlines set by publishers/investors. It's exasperating that you make such baldly false statements with such certainty. It would be correct to say that from the consumer's perspective it is
useful to have a release date, and of course publishers often consider consumer habits when announcing release dates (for the purpose of making money) and it is a bonus for a publisher if a lot of excitement builds up about their game after the release date is announced (and
when the Bannerlord release date is announced, such an effect will be evident), but it is not the reason they exist.
