Let`s celebrate the official new forum release date,
20th January 2020 (even though there`s a typo and it says 20/01/19), or we are using american datings

Well, i might as well post this here now.
This was a poem of desperation out of the lack of the blog.
Even though we got the blog, let the writing not be in vain:

Over green fields, mountains and hills,
a sea of trees lies, called the Druimmor forest.
Whoever walks past it indeed gets the chills,
a few would dare enter, only the boldest.

Legends say inside lives a Fairy,
a creature usurping all living souls,
she takes and collects all she can carry,
souls of the people she now controls.

Then came a hero, warrior from Dunglanys,
searching for honor and fame,
he knew the legends, and all else about this,
but hunting the Fairy was no child`s game.

The hero there went and entered the forest,
all by himself, his courage, his blade,
wind started howling, mist was the coldest,
yet even then his will wasn't swayed.

As he was walking, deeper and deeper,
the warrior regretted having no companion,
the hero has felt his end's gotten nearer,
when woods started chanting in old Battanian.

Cold sweat started dripping from warriors face,
all of the sudden, arose the Fairy queen,
hero has fallen to her embrace,
she was the most beautiful thing he's ever seen.

"Fear not, my love", she said to the hero,
"now i am yours and you are mine,
welcome to family, my beautiful willow,
you are the one that's destined to shine".

The warrior became her most loyal servant,
the best and the strongest there's ever been,
with hair and the eyes red as a currant,
he started being known as Ioren the Wolfskin.

So the new modding thing will be like ModDB but M&B only? That's cool but now they'll be even more scattered, between steam workshop, ModDB and here.

It's more like it's own separate forum right now, for lack of a better way to describe it, although we are totally open to ideas of how we can expand upon and improve it!

We added the ability for users to react to posts, similar to what you can find on any typical social media site. Right now we have limited this to just positive reactions, however, we would like to include the community in this discussion and come to an agreement on what the scope of reactions should be. After all, the last thing we want to do is detract from the active discussions, debates and general engagement that our current forums facilitate and promote.

Ok but why?

Absolutely not. If you can't articulate why you agree or disagree with a post in text, you shouldn't be allowed to influence the discussion from the sidelines by upvoting a post you like. Nothing is worse than seeing something which is completely wrong or outright misleading getting upvoted on social media or reddit or whatever, but people who are just reading the thread to get informed will automatically look for the most upvoted post to find the "correct" opinion on something.

Please don't turn this site into the paradox forums.

Have to agree on this. I don't want the forums to turn into a reddit hive where all the people are a bunch of NPC's and people get downvoted to hell for having a different opinion.

As the blog says, they are currently restricted to positive reactions (certainly beats +1 replies, that's for sure), but there is a discussion to be had about if they should be expanded or changed at any point. For now it is likely we will just keep them as they are and give it some time to see how they play out.

No that's fine, I like them in as few places as possible. Ideally they would all be on workshop because that's easiest but beggars can't be choosers.

Agree with James as well. Most reactions are cancerous. Definitely don't add any other than positive if you are really set on having any. I experienced it on the escape from tarkov forums. Even something like "funny" or "confused" is used just to get under people's skin for free.

I would prefer people took the effort to post something and put +1. It shows someone actually supports something rather then giving a pointless click on an upvote button.
