A big part of the game revolves around plotting your rise to power and building up a war chest that is capable of making your ambitions a reality. In this week’s blog, we will take a look at one of the ways that Bannerlord’s deep economic system enables players to raise the funds needed to equip themselves, gather an army and set forth on a military campaign: productive enterprises.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/59

So there are multiple ,,slots" for enterprizes in each town. What if other lords alredy bought all available slots? Can we destroy them in siege or buy their enterprizes?

How about a few more enterprise ideas:

I'm sorry. I really look forward to this game. I am more hyped for this game than any other and that does say something. But the whole release date thing is angering me. I started following this game 2 years ago, I know many of you have longer but in general, 2 years of following a game pre-release is a long time. That was in July of 2016. I had played Warband before this and noticed a new one was in development. I immediately showed it to my friend and we both became very hyped instantly. Taleworlds told us the game would be coming out before the end of the year. However, as we eased into November, and there still was little more info on this and I became skeptical.

December passed with no word on release. I do believe a Steam page was created shortly after in January of 2017 though. We were told it should come out in 2017. In July and August at E3 and Gamescon, we were told they were confident it would be finished before the end of the year. 2017 would pass. Dev Blogs became less informative and seemed to be more about stalling than giving us meaningful info on the game. We were promised a playable form of the game in 2017. This never happend.

Here we are, nearly halfway through 2018 and there has been little word on release until now-- We will see new stuff of Bannerlord at Gamescon. That is 3 months away. There will be 4 months left of 2018 at this time and they are going to be showing us gameplay footage. If this gameplay footage follows the pattern of previous, it will be meaningless; showing maybe some new multiplayer footage against bots. It's safe to say the game will not be coming out in 2018. This is extremely frustrating. From what I've heard it was supposed to come out in 2014 originally but has been repeatedly delayed to where we are now. As a fan, I feel lied to and stalled.

People will say that it is better for developers to take their time with games so they don't come out a rushed, buggy mess. These people are correct but I think that 6 years is more than enough time to sort bugs out. The developers have said that they want to release the game perfect. This worries me. The game will never be perfect. No games are perfect. Don't waste your's and my time trying to make a game perfect. It doesn't need to be and if that is what you are trying to do then I have my doubts this game will ever be released. Games can always be updated and improved. But by not releasing after this long wait you are causing 3 things:
            1. You are dividing the fanbase before the game is even out.
            2. You are raising expectations with every month that passes.
            3. The game is becomes more outdated.

That is all I have to say. I know this wall of text is far from a masterpiece but I needed to vent. If it is grammatically incorrect I apologize. I typed this on a phone and I have large, clumsy thumbs. Spellcheck made dozens of corrections during this, I doubt they are all correct. I genuinely am excited for this game. I say this as a fan, not as a hater.

They wont be attending E3... which means no 2018 release date RIP!

Now, now don't get steamed! They are attending Gamescon in August so there is hope that they could still give us a release window at that which could still mean a 2018 release. Now if August 2018 comes and it's only some footage well...

Not looking for an argument here, just want to point out a few things:
1. TW has admitted that they made a mistake by announcing the game too early, which was in 2012 when development began.
2. The game was never slated to be released 2014, but that was when TW decided (rightly imo) to scrap the old game engine and basically start from scratch, so we could consider this date to be the new "development start date" rather than 2012, since only main concepts would have been transferred.
3. 4 years is actually a relatively normal period of time for a game to take to develop, and even 6 years (if we go from 2012) isn't too far out of the ordinary. The main difference is most other games aren't announced until they've been in development for a few years, so it only seems like waiting for 1-3 years, but it's really been worked on for 4-6.

In other words, BL isn't taking any longer than other large, ambitious games (especially considering they scrapped what they had and started over), it only seems that way because they announced it waaaaaay too early, a mistake TW has admitted to. The "promises" of release in 2016/2017 with no follow was indeed disappointing, perhaps even more than that, but it was not intentional to discourage/lie to the fans. It may not seem like it, but by not announcing a release date at this point TW is attempting to avoid any further distancing from their fan base by missing another deadline. While I agree it would be nice to know approximately how much longer we're looking at waiting, I don't think we're nearly at panic time yet. Let's at least wait and see what happens at Gamescom before we start giving up on BL.

On a more hopeful note, I've noticed that the last several blogs have been targeted at new(er) players. Perhaps this is a sign of good news to come at Gamescom? I.E., if they feel they have something spectacular to show (or perhaps even a release date) they might be building up a backlog of info so anyone who is interested by the Gamescom demo/presentation will have plenty of info to read up on and get a good feel for the game

preach!!! I agree completely I've been following this since they announced it 2012 and at this point id be down for something ANYTHING of Bannerlord. Doesn't even have to be a full release just like a beta or the arena mode just something they have mostly finished. At the very least I would like it if they would be blunt and tell us without any doubt whether or not we can expect it this year.

Nice blog!

So now we can wage wars between enterprises by money. Giving this amount of improvement for pr. enterprises, and making even more systems, like crime, really gives us more opportunity in the game. In Warband, the game styles we could choose from were very limited. Mainly you went to war, or to raid to get money, and anything else was just supplement. Now we have a few new ways to try.

Previously I have never visited a pr. enterprise that I bought. Walking on a street was never an activity, because there wasn't anything interesting, and I had nothing to do. I can already see that it will change, and I'll spend more time walking around, and admiring the details of the surrounding, the crowd on the streets, the catchy taverns, check where are my companions at the moment, and taking care of my business.

I am still curious, that if one conquer a city, and it had enterprises on enemy hand, than I can only claim it's profit as in Warband, or can I make it my own?

Love the new shops. Can they produce higher tier types of equipment too? Or anything I want?

Noooo, don't cry Lord Callum! You might feel like you're only giving us table scraps, but hey, it's better than starving :iamamoron:.

On a slightly unrelated/off topic note, if I snuck into an enemy town could I attempt to massacre the population myself? lol

I`ve been waiting for confirmation that the business end of the game is getting a revamp!

I`m liking what I`m hearing. Couple of questions, though:
-You mentioned honest competition in the name of the free market, but is there a way I can play dirty? Can I sabotage a productive enterprise? Also, can the enterprises be bought from other lords?

-How will crime factor into this? Will cities with high crime rates produce less? Would it be a valid strategy to undermine business by taking over the crime gangs in a city? And if so, will player owned enterprises be affected by player-controlled criminal organizations?

Ooh, some good questions here! If I could tack one on, if enterprises are tied to a location in the city, can I enter a rival's enterprise? If so, could I attempt to steal his resources/products for my own? Or, if I own a local criminal outfit, could I order them to do the same?

Good blog and the new system sounds like it could be a game all by itself, maybe "Bannerlord ………. The Real Business".

I only hope that it doesn't need micromanagement to continue to turn a profit. It could be a bit annoying to be concentrating on the military defeat of an enemy to suddenly discover that every business you own in a number of towns are now all losing money.

Interesting blog.

To decorate the interiors, we used a system that allows us to tag objects and automatically replace the default entities placed in a scene using the properties of a new shop.

Great to see the same rented room auto-configured as a mill (on the left) and a tannery (on the right). Looking closely, you can see the tagged locations with different representative props in the same places. Very curious to know how this would work, turning the example room into a stable - the room's door and light fixtures don't seem appropriate for a stable.

Theoretically, this tagging system could be used in a mod to let the player choose different styles of furniture to redecorate his castle apartment.

Beautiful words I wanted to say something about this as well but you were faster I agree 100% with you and I wanted to add that if this game is not released in 2018 it will probably be a dead game when it gets released im so angry on the developers with all their lies etc but I have faith in them that this gamw will come out this summer ot AT LEAST after summer but thats what my heart says what my brain says is that this game will prob come out summer 2019 if not early 2020 but I think that by then its going to be dead so who cares

I'm not a fan of that myself, though it is smart from an efficiency of development point of view since they don't have to recreate an entirely new scene for every single business. It makes everything seem less distinct. Less real. I suppose it is plausible that most real life industries on a similar scale of production to each other would find themselves in similar premises, but a mill is a bit different- there doesn't seem to be any form of great power to turn the grindstone, no watermill or windmill, not even an oxen or mule. Presumably, then, this is supposed to be done entirely by human labour, but I associate that more with village life- the women folk doing the work outside, maybe a few households banding together to make flour for their families- than with a mill creating flour on a comparatively large scale.

It's about player choice - we can chose whichever enterprise we like for the available room/slot that we've rented. It allows the scenes to be interconnected to the rest of the town/castle via a door portal (without a Warband menu link). Equally, in Warband the enterprises all looked the same whichever faction/culture. Here the room shell (wall, floor, ceiling, door & light fixtures) can vary by faction/culture while still combining it with appropriate tagged props for the chosen enterprise. Lots of scope for subtle variations.

The mill stone shown looks manually powered to me.

I thought the blog was good. Giving new players some info we already knew but also expanding on it for everyone else. I doubt we will get a answer but I was also wondering this. Having that tie in would be cool. I would think if you owned the criminal organizations you could choose which enterprises would be affected. Not affecting yours and possibly helping a friendly lord.
