Beyond that, with no farmland where the legions could forage, they could conquer no more. They fortified their most recent acquisitions, the great trading cities on the steppe's edge, confident that the disorganized horse tribes beyond the frontier posed no major threat. Khuzaits, Nachaghan, Arkits, Khergits, Karakhergits - imperial officials barely even bothered to learn the names of the various clans and peoples, except when it was necessary to turn one chief against another with a bribe, or remove a rising khan with a vial of poison.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/33

Are you paying attention to the forum or just following the crowd , this issue is resolved ,no real fan cares about horse heights , Arabian, mongolian , Cossack , a horse is a horse .I recommend you stick to more important posts

If I am not going to get punished for this I want to say that I actually do.Not for the other factions but for the Khuzaits horse is a very important thing and in WB Khergits(WB version of Khuzaits) did not have a unique horse for themselves and I found it a bit weird.

Ofc I dont want a new skeleton model. It doesnt worth its time. I am more than fine with just some unique stats(hardier but a bit slower) and a new name but you cant say that I wouldnt be more interested with some new skeletons.

Your response is laughable, what was suggested previously was totally new horses with a different mesh model that would require rigging work from the start. Armagan did not only tell you that they'll make a variety of horses, he also denied that he would design more from scratch. Which is what was suggested. We already saw different shaped horses on gameplay videos, this is nothing new. And yes, horses is not an exciting topic, all they do is act like vehicles and/or die. We already have variable armors for them in Bannerlord, it is enough. Different looks is more important on characters and other art aspects than friggin' horses.

Same goes for this entry as well. You may see horses as just vehicles but horses are not just a vehicle. They are also a weapon and for many they are arts.
Yes I will be happy enough with just different stats and a bit differently shaped horses but what you say does not go for me and I believe for a lot of people.

Before This blog absolutely no one here had any issues with how the horses looked despite seeeing them in the captain mode gameplay :/

Now people bandwagon off each each finding non existent flaws because a there's 'not enough'/etc. for a game they haven't even played or has been released.

You are right about we didnt issue horses of Bannerlord but I would like to state that whenever I choose Khergits in WB multi(I chose them a lot btw they are my fav) I kinda get disappointed that they dont have any unique horses for themselves.Because even Sarranid have their own horses and Khergits are the horsemen of the game.So when this topic was opened in this thread it kinda ''triggered'' me lol

Also the devs are almost certainly reading this thread. We already had Armagen. If there is anything we want to bring up that's even vaguely related to the blog (and it is definitely related today since we are talking about the Kuzait faction) then we should bring it up now. It's better to voice our opinion while they are listening to us and still working on the game than after release when they can do very little.

Well I think we should stop with the horse breeds at this point or at least open a different thread for it. We shouldnt occupy this thread with this topic. They already got the point and even replied to us.
I just wanted to correct some people above me who claimed that noone cares about horse types.

Taleworlds is an ambitious developer company I have no doubt that they are doing their best to please us.
As long as they add a normal horse with buffed hardiness and a bit nerfed speed and visually what Armagan told us It will be more than perfect for me.

Don't worry, when the game is released no one will care about the size of a horse.

I always hated fighting the Khergit Khanate in Warband, fights would go on forever unless I had a ton of Swadian Knights. Then later in the game they would switch to all different factions and I would be obnoxiously surprised I had to fight more. I can see making a play-through where I recruit and upgrade units to hopefully give to the Karakhergits minor faction groups to the point they are lumbering masses just to spite the Khuzait Khanate and give them a pain in the arse

Heheh...I do not know who the heck you think you are, but just to reiterate that there ARE people interested in horses and details which could be discussed and potentially included in the game. Everyone has the right to state their concerns and express their ideas... and we don't give a f...lying monkey about what "real fans" like you care about. For instance, a lot of people can't be bothered about multiplayer or coop, but it doesn't mean they are gonna jump on the relative threads and criticise you because you are talking about useless stuff like feinting or dual wielding.
Even Armagan posted something about it, so it means it's relevant.

To be honest, I don't care much about horses. But why is that? Simply because I know nothing about them, hence I am not able to notice mistakes. However, if I was indeed an expert, I'm not sure I would be so bothered either. In any case, I can see why some people would prefer seeing more realistically accurate horses, breeds and whatnot (again stuff I know nothing about).

If these were major adjustments I would say no, since it would add too much to development time (as in creating entirely new skeletons and animations, if you only knew how much time and effort rigging takes, one of the most tedious things, without talking about all the time needed to do accurate research, which would certainly add up quite a bit to the time) for what would be essentially a minor issue. Although, as Armagan said, compromises can be made with scaling certain body parts and whatnot, which I'm sure wouldn't take too long or reroute too much of their resources on this. Hence, I don't see the trouble.

This is a very interesting topic to talk about, since it's something I've always been wondering: How accurate do you have to be, when developing a videogame? How much knowledge do you need of biology, anatomy, construction, economy, history etc. etc. to make a pleasant game?

I was wondering about this a few weeks ago and i was thinking..will it be able for some lords to die? of course that question is silly but when i mean die i expect something like an assasination or die old and have a son that would take their place..that would be interesting because if a king died and his son wanted to take the throne but a powerful lord spends a lot of influence to side with the mostt powerful lords and a civil war happened it would be really intersting to see if the powerful lord won or if the young boy beat the overowered force or something like that and you should (as the player) be able to choose who to join yyou should make a choice of who would rule the kingdom better.. anyways random lords with random names could be generated if a lord died but lords shouldnt die at the battlefield!

PS. i dont think this will ever be implemented in the game but it would be cool. :iamamoron:

By the looks of some objects on the shadows, there's no ambient occlusion?
Second screenshot, the guy in orange cloths doesn't seem on ground for instance, and in the same image, at the wall on the left, the support trunks showing out, the same. Sorry if I missed it somewhere but, the engine supports AO right?

I don't see "Work in Progress" in the screenshot anymore. SHould i worry that this will be the final product quality?

Yeah the graphics quality looks really poor and warband like.

I gotta agree it's starting to look very similiar to Warband, which makes me sad.

Literal (according to my limited understanding of Italian) translation: "When is the day of exit mother noobs. This faction is my favourite for the way in which I want only to play the game. I have hopes for the late november to the start of december for a date of exit."

Adapted to what I presume it means: "When is the release date mother noobs. This faction is my favourite because it is the only way in which I want to play the game. I have hopes for a release date in late november or december."

My occasional Duolingo Italian lessons have served me well; I only had to use Google translate to translate speranze (hopes).

I paid attention to it, but did not talk about it. And it seems for good reason that I did not talk about it. Some people scold me for what I said about horses. What would have happened if I had also said about the quality of graphics in the screenshot? ..

Your translation is correct, even better than his half broken Italian. Good job.

I dont get it the orange guy gets no sunlight the roof of the Merchant blocks all the sunlight for him.Dont you see he is completely dark.
About the support trunks(if I understood what you meant by that correctly) dont they stay behind the house's light side how are they supposed to have a shadow ?

I think it has been a while since you played WB last time because in WB all you see some NPC's standing behind some tables and standing there without moving their hair.Bannerlord has very old and bad graphics for 2017 its graphics belong to 2010 they remind me of Assassins Creed 2 but warband is more like GTA 3(2000) it may not be contemporary but you are not being just calling it like WB.

I personally like the style they have chosen and think that it is very pretty in its own way. However, back when they first started showing gameplay up until now, as technology has evolved, it has begun to grow ever more outdated looking. I really do just hope that they decide to release it before it gets too outdated. They can always be actively updating and improving and releasing patches and even expansions. Just please god, get the game out there some time soon.

Well if you consider few days a while, sure. No, obviously I'm not saying it looks exactly like Warband; It's a major improvement. What I meant to say is that some objects and textures DO look like Warband's, not everything but some. For example:

blog_post_15_taleworldswebsite_03.jpg

Look at the basket and watermelon which look quite low poly, you can easily see each border vertex of the models, which reminds me a lot of the models you see in Warband since they do have the same effect. If you want, when I have the time, I can grab as many screenies as we've got at our disposal and show you more accurate comparisons with Warband.

Is it a problem? Absolutely not. It makes me a bit sad simply because it reminds me that the more time passes the more the game will age, graphically.
