It is important to know as much as possible about the current state of affairs in the game world to make the most of any opportunities that arise or prepare yourself for any impending threats. In this week’s blog, we take a look at one of the ways that we present information to players in Bannerlord: the encyclopaedia.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/72

While the new system is nice and definitely more functional it looks like something from sci-fi game and not something set before Warband
It could probably be fixed by giving it better background and bit of tweaking with GUI look

Quite the improvement from Warband's. Scrolling through a huge list of names and trying to find the one I needed was indeed a pain.

Looks fine to me, I think it's perfectly fitting with the rest of the UI in the game.

Yay. Not only is this a thing I have always wished for in Warband (user friendly UI, but mainly search function for lords) we also got to see a troop tree!
Cant wait till Gamescom!

I see where you are coming from, but I do not agree. I think simple backgrounds as seen are much better than detailed backgrouds or a background with repeating boring texture as in Warband

Good screens & interesting blog.

Kalata of the Willow-Tree and Kela of the Gate have two entries in the filter. Does this mean that there is one entry about them in relation to Sturgia and another in relation to Khuzait? I hope this means a turncoat's back history is retained as that would make the Encyclopedia a historical narative/record of your game rather than just its current status of play.

Great troop tree. So what does the key symbol mean in the Battanian Spearman's stats? I presume the sword= one-hand proficiency 100, bow= archery proficiency 100, axe= polearm proficiency 100 & shield = shield proficiency 50, but whats the key 75?

Will minor factions have entries under clans or kindgoms? I presume clans as they seem to operate within factions.

i expected much more original troop names. Everything in our game is pretty much the same.In other words virtually nothing has changed since mb relased.

Look at this:

Which option do you prefer??

If the likes of "Mountain Bandits" and "Looters" are counted as 'cultures' in the encyclopedia menu, does this mean there are "Heroes" or characters within those factions that can be interacted with and relations built with? Can you join them even?

Eh, the names used don't really matter. The simple, less culture-derived names add clarity in casualty reports and army organization, so I'd stay with the overly simple system.
