It is important to know as much as possible about the current state of affairs in the game world to make the most of any opportunities that arise or prepare yourself for any impending threats. In this week’s blog, we take a look at one of the ways that we present information to players in Bannerlord: the encyclopaedia.

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/72

Wait a munite. There are two faction selected and female option selected. There are 20 heroes in the screen. The page only shows to the letter of K which is the 10th letter. There is no scrolling down bar on the right but let's pretend there is.

So if we proportionally calculate the heroes in the game, one culture could have 40 heroes but there is 15 cultures. 40 times 15 is equal to 600. What the hell! I know this is a rough estimate and there is no evidence cultures will contribute the number of heros proportionally however something tells me that we will have at least 100 heroes in the game.

Troop roster is finally here but I wish to see Empire because they have a balanced roster reflecting Byzies but I will marching to hunting Battanians, their roster is too simple and rudimentary for my likes

 Nice blog! Good to see that there'll be a troop true in-game.

Just a small suggestion: If there's going to be a Gamescom blog like there has been in the past, I think it'd be a good idea if you either showed off some pictures from the event, or of players' individual playthroughs, instead of a just recap of what's been shown.
(You can still have that, but people will be thirsting for other info as well)

While the new system is nice and definitely more functional it looks like something from sci-fi game and not something set before Warband
It could probably be fixed by giving it better background and bit of tweaking with GUI look

I thought it looked fine. Icons look cool too.

Less than a couple weeks until Gamescom starts....maybe they'll announce a date for when they'll announce a release date.

Verry nice and I am back on the hype train  . Cool blog with nice pictures sharing more info.
And I am pleased to see, that in the backround, the world map is getting finished.

By the way, on the secound picture, in the bottom left corner there is a castle, or town named "Dunglanys". From it's outlook, isn't that the same castle, or town that we saw in the siege defending video?

Seein the bandit factions there was exciting. Again a bit of reminder about the depth of the game.

It is going to take a lot more for modders to finish a mod for this.

I actually think this was a blog worthy of its name! The UI is definitely an improvment, and looks pretty good!
Hurrah for Battania!
Also, consider this: the UI looks rather finished, and that's the last thing you usually add in a game, before bug fixing and the such, so perhaps there is hope?

i expected much more original troop names. Everything in our game is pretty much the same.In other words virtually nothing has changed since mb relased.

Look at this:

640

and this:

Which option do you prefer??
If there's something I've never enjoyed from mods was having a thousand troop types for each tree, it gets quite tedious choosing one from another more when these different troops don't change that much and you just end up choosing one from the other anyways. This is keeping it simple and useful and I like it, don't forget that you have another troop type in your faction that is the noble type, the one you recruit in castle and are said to be on this game, aaand the one you recruit on your clan, so an army will have a lot of diversity without having these easy to recruit troops having a lot of types.

 Now ai lords get companions too.

Excellent blog, well done with the new Encyclopedia

Please make the clans/minor factions dev blog next

I really hope there’s a way to adjust the importance of family in factions. Much like in Game if Thrones, eg: Westerlands would be a kingdom/region, while families, like House Lannister, rise to power within the kingdom. It’d be a cool dynamic to see what families rise and fall/split off and create inner-kingdom politics/problems.

Not sure how complex of a system that’d have to be but one can dream!

Really like the troop tree and don`t really those that mantioned earlier. There`re enough big amount of troops in it.
Also like the searching function, becouse scrolling in warband was the reall pain. Nice blog!

My guess would be, as someone mentioned before, this is your basic troop tree, and clans, minor factions, and the noble troop tree would all include the truly high level units. Vlandian knights, the Sturgian Viking troops, Empire's Varingian Guard troops, etc. are all probably going to be linked to, if not a "noble" tree, requiring you to belong to the faction, at least a minor faction or clan, requiring you to have high relations with that group, to avoid having the Swadian knight steamroller problem from WB

Great blog, I really like the information regarding Troops selection, I always wanted to know in Warband what type of troop I will have(in the beginning of the game). Glad I can do that in Bannerlord, keep up the good work lads, big love from Romania!

I wonder if it is possible extend/mod the character Encylodepia to have male, female & other. The sort of entries under other might be:
1. Legendary/named weapons - I’d love to know who currently owns them so I know who to rob. Even a rumour about the lost jewelled pommel of Emperor X would be of interest.
2. Named mounts - yes I’d like to name my camel & make him a companion.
3. Legendary/named armour - the tomb of King Y is believed to contain his famous winged helm etc.
