Looking good. I like the effects on stone.

Don't tease us with stuff like "huge battles". If it is still ~600-800 agents, just say that , before someone starts a thread on how Bannerlord will now have 10,000 soldiers in a battle or how they will be 200km2.

Q & A:
Although with the amazing looking Multiplayer (commander mode 5v5) this wont be needed, will be still be able to play 1v1 (with armies) in either Multiplayer or LAN? Also, could we possibly see more than 2 sides, e.g. 1v1v1 or 2v1v1 or maybe even 4 sides?

Question 1:
With the popularity of battle royale style games, have you considered making a multiplayer mode similar to this?  What ultimately was the reason for the choice to create the mode or not?
Clearly there would need to be changes, like spawning on a pre-designated part of a city instead of parachuting out of the sky.
The style of the battle would not really fall under any know medieval battle, but could potentially be an interesting game mode.

Question 2:
Many games use a control point system to capture the fortress.  While the offline game would not include these for immersion reasons, will the online sieges include this mechanic?

Thanks for putting these blog posts together, they really are well done!

You must have missed these

I actually think I saw the first one... or did I? But not the second one. Good to see that they're holding it in more ways that one. Also, that looks spectacular.

i imagine the multiplayer feel like gladiator with colosseum stuff.
but now i just remember what about war chariot ? will it exist in bannerlord ? maybe one as entertainment from the empire ? im not sure is it still use as war tool in this era though, but it would be nice if we have chariot race as entertainment just like board game in bannerlord.

You said in a previous devblog that Bannerlord multiplayer would support more than what warband unofficially(250) supported. Do you have a finalized number? Have you done any testing?

+1
It would be really cool having most of the castle captured by the enemy and then being able to sally out as the defenders like Théoden at Helm's deep:

Edit: I was just thinking that it would be cool if BL had a Team Objective mode, like in Chivalry, as a MP mode. Team Objective is kind of like conquest except where you have to complete a certain objective (duh!) to advance to the next stage. E.g. light a beacon, free slaves, kill the king (who is controlled by a player) and the objectives are different depending on the map. This mode wouldn't replace regular siege, it could be a new mode in addition to regular siege. (You could call it something like Siege Conquest, Siege Objective etc.)

Interesting blog: the shadows are great but maybe a little bit too much contrasted, some corners look completely dark ! The  flashy yellow signboards for tavern are a bit weird (looking very much like Warband) it looks like they are placeholders, it would be good get something more stylish looking more medieval.

Cool blog and video  !

The questions for next week since it's multiplayer are:

1. Will there be a co-op mode for the singleplayer?
2. If not did you try, and what was the dealbreaker?
3. Which kind of multiplayer mod do you want to see the most?
4. What is the largest a multiplayer map can be in size while still being playable?
5. Would it in theory for a very ambitious mod, be posible to create a sort of 1 scene mini multiplayer campaign?
6. Which multiplayer gamemode is your favourite?
7. Is there features which are 100% done but being kept a surprise for us players?

The newer graphics look stunning, hard to believe it’s a warband sequel.
I wonder how demanding that is, I hope my laptop will run it.
I noticed at the end in the video that some guards are sitting on chairs in the court? That’s a little strange as I feel like they wouldn’t be able to slack like that when guarding their lord.

Maybe they are captains / sergeants and not regular guards?
(I'll have to go back and see them again; didn't notice the first time)

One did have his helmet off which made him look more important, but then I saw another that looked like a standard guard standing near the doors.

Interesting blog - PRT looks great outside, but I'm concerned how dark it gets inside. For example without - we see a clear mosaic to the far right:

With the mosaic completely disappears:

Is their some way to mitigate the loss of detail from such excessive shadow?

Presumably each time a scene is changed the PRT effect needs to be re-baked. How long does this take and what will a scene look like if a prop is added and the re-bake forgotten?

Question for next week:

Will the multiplayer have a ranking or a clan function?

Hi,

It looks cool for the first watch. But you have to work on the effect so much more. It looks like an instagram filter. It applies to the blog about shadows and lighting too. It is obvious that you guys added/discovered these effects not very long ago.

Do not try to make us realize you are using new technologies. Use them, and try to make us not realize. It will look much more natural and beautiful. Smoother touches please.

Always appreciated your work. This is a sincere criticism.

Cheers.

Seems like that sort of thing may be adjustable with a standard Gamma slider in the graphic display options.

As i said too it looks really dark but its looking better if you watch the video in HD on Youtube ! And as YourStepDad said guards are holding spears correctly now, it seems devs are reading what we say and its great !

Well I think the video has some great music that reminds me of Kingdom Come Deliverance as well as a bit of Lord of the Rings in it.Some questions I have for the devs is will there still be a marriage feature, will there be new features like interactive feasts where there is eating/drinking animations plus the ability to dance with the ladies or lords(maybe as a wedding quest to improve relations with your spouse)will there be the ability to wear crowns in the castle/city keeps that you conquered because in warband you could not even though back then, monarchies would wear their crowns and even be a allowed to carry at least a sword or dagger, will there be a hunting feature where you can hunt deer, elk, boar etc and will you be able to have kids and be able to watch them grow up etc?I know it's a lot but these questions have been on my mind eversince!
