since we're talking about horses, I wonder:
1) The physics of impacts between two charging cavalry as it is managed?
If two horses impact frontally at high speed, do the two horses, or their bodies, have impactful animations? Or maybe they suffer part of the ragdoll to simulate it?
2) and consequently: do their riders fly after the impact? are they thrown off?
I’m not sure where but I’m like 300% sure that I saw a video or read something saying that if there were two horses charging each other they would like split in directions a little like one would go a little left and the other a little to the right so that they wouldn’t do the WB rear and just completely stop. Or maybe I had a dream of me hearing or reading these “fake news” but I think that’s actual facts.

already this would be a good thing, but only if the momentum in the game were not too large or if the impacts are not strictly frontal.

Asking for horse breeding is extreme. They are means to reaching a point faster, this is not a horse/animal simulator. Don't you think?

RPGs are about growing and upgrading. If for the most of the game you can upgrade to better swords and level up to improve your sword-wielding effectiveness, why not upgrade your horse multiple times, maybe through breeding and not just by buying horse armor?
Not only they should implement horse breeding, but I think it's necessary we see occasional horse breeding during battles.

HORSE BLOG

Literally the most important blog for me. Honestly the horses don't look prefect to me but I want you guys to already release the game, they differ enough, I guess. I just hope that there's going to be some weight system so a lightly armoured Khuzait archer will have a speed advantage over a heavily armoured Empire knight, even though he's riding a slower steppe horse.

when that game ''BANNERLORD" announced i was just 13 years old i think at last 2015 the game would be playable but  7 years gone already and i'm 20 years old now.over the past 7 years i got too many adventures between them motorcycle crash and car crashes. i crashed my 125cc horse, and at this 7 years i got 5 car crash accident as passenger and last my 6th crash get my own high speed in the rain, car slide from the road until the collision, it was one of those to think about i should play bannerlord before i die .
so enough those blogs and give us the game just make the beta for the fans

Realistically, if they have stirrups, they can hold and not fly off on impact, without stirrups 100% chance of flying over. If that's going to make in the game? I doubt it, it would be awesome to have realistic reactions from infantry on Horse charges, so Elite Infantry doesn't move, horses bash against a shield wall, some fools fly over it, Horse Charge DENIED! Or, common infantry, massive horse charge, most run away, some make room for the cavalry, others are run over, Horse Charge PWNS! But that would add layers of AI that I don't think would make into the game.

As for horse v horse impact and people flying, I also doubt that too, it'll likely go just like in WB where the horse stops like a moron and rears...
it would be wonderfull if they implement a little physics in the impact.
They have that kinetic sistem thata they use for the impact animation for the shield or the armor.
You totally misunderstood how Inverse Kinematics works.

I don't know if you have seen this but this might be what you are looking for: https://www.taleworlds.com/Images/News/blog_post_77_taleworldswebsite_03.gif
Yeah, the charge seems less generic, still it's unrealistic Oo Most horses in that case would fall/tip-off, some riders would be thrown forward after the impact, etc. But as I've said, they are not likely to do that. To be honest, from all sources I've researched the subject, direct horse charges on elite infantry were rarely made due to these results, and instead cavalry would be, in such cases, used to flank, counter-flank or chase skirmishers. Direct charges were only really used on poor infantry due to their lack of discipline and tendency of getting terrified... In these cases the infantry would break formation and start running like idiots.

I think it would be interesting, but if it is put in the game it should be added later through a content update or DLC or something. It's not a neccesary function and certainly isn't needed in the base game.

Very nice blog, as a well known khergit i rly love horses (if u know what i mean  :fruity:) But the proportions seem a bit off to me.
I want to point out the same as "moori", mongol horses were not as fast as other breeds but the difference of weight of the rider made them faster than the oponents, this will happen in the game aswell?

By the way i've been a long time lurker of the forums like many others, and finally decided to join in, and give my point of view (im not here begging for a beta key)
I know that's been some controversy about alt accounts so well, to make things clear i ll introduce myself, im Carboncete, a spanish 3D modeler; i sent my portfolio to taleworlds (sadly didnt get hired )
U can take a look at my stuff in artstation.com/carboncete  (meanwhile still have the modding community)

Btw "Terco viejo" keep up the good work and well pointed and constructive criticism! (sin sarcasmos, soy fan tuyo xD)

It's a good thing we're not in China.  All those puns would get Callum a life sentence.  Otherwise, I hope that there will be a way, with the use of husbandry buildings, to create hybrid horses using different kinds of mares and stallions in combination with small chances to breed exceptional horses with special traits.
Also, chariots?

<p>Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord features six distinct cultures, all of which are based on real-world medieval civilisations. Each of these cultures sports their own unique types of clothing, weapons, armour, and architectural styles, bringing a high-level of diversity to the continent of Calradia. However, there was one aspect of the game that was a little lacking and not entirely in keeping with our efforts to create a huge, believable game world. And for a game with the word <em>Mount</em> in the title, it is something we thought we should take a closer look at... We are of course talking about horses!</p></br> Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/104
Wow Callum with these new horses I hope we can use realistic formations such as the spear men EXTENDING AND LOCKING spears to repel light cav

God, those horses look terrible. I'm not sure if it's just the textures, or if it's the models as well, but... ugh. Hopefully they're just extremely WIP, and were showcased before they were ready to be seen by the public. I mean, that has to be what's going on here, right? :???:

Looking good, I like them!

Will stables be introduced as an industry for players to invest in? After all, getting a steady supply of horses to either use for your armies or make profit of would be pretty nice.

This late in the development it's quite telling if their models and textures look this bad. I seriously don't think they are much better than warband.

These were the horses we were given in horses devBlog.

So,
Desert became Aserai horse
Saddle horse is same with Empire horse
.
.
.
If not then how many horses do we have in total ?
" In total, we have added six new horse breeds to the game; each of them inspired by real-world breeds from Europe, Africa and Asia. Each of the new breeds is attached to a different culture in the game. Each particular breed can be further trained as a war horse, which will be much stronger and tougher but will also be much more expensive. So, overall there will be twelve types of horse, in addition to pack horses and mules. "

They may be called blogs but they have the function of advertisements. If it was really about telling you the inner workings of the game, these blogs would be 5,000 words long and be full of technical information. They're like little teaser trailers.
The horse screenshots are taken in situ at different angles. They're presented as finished. If these models really were a work in progress then none of the base colour textures would be there, seeing as that is the final step in model creation. The "Work In Progress: Not Final Product" badge doesn't mean you can dismiss or ignore faults in how a game looks because in order to change a model at this stage you essentially have to redo it from scratch.

IK is often used for physics simulations on a wide range of things. I can think of a dozen games where IK is used for the exact same scenario that darksoulshin is talking about. What do you think IK even is?

I respect your opinion but I disagree. Horse breeding is not important, the variety is there already when it comes to horses, armor, saddles already exist. Horse breeding would make cavalry even more overpowered than it is.
