I still think that open-ended syntax about Gamescon was intentionally left there in case Armagan randomly decides that it's ready the day before Gamescon, and they have to change the whole thing. What's important to remember is we've seen seige gameplay from a pre-set battle, a little glimpse into the overworld map and SP gameplay within a set situation (they knew where the enemy lord was, where they started, etc.), and the Captain mode gameplay from last year. While all these looked good and finished and polished, it wouldn't have been hard to set them up as little snippets without the rest of the game actually being there. It didn't matter in the SP gameplay whether the economy system was actually set up or not, because they were showing off the battle and the new stuff to do in town mostly, for example
Yeah. I never said the game was finished or polished in those videos we saw, only that years ago the core elements of the game seemed to function to a sufficient level to classify it as "playable", which even if I was wrong (probably the case) means that years later it's definitely at the point where it functions. Enough for a beta or some other pre-release sometime in the next few months. Or at the very least the "problems" talked about in 2016 (I think?) about sync issues within Multiplayer debris and other such features simply
had to have been fixed or changed in that time period, which given that most of the things we've been hearing about in dev blogs and other such official information probably means that Multiplayer (which in terms of mechanics is far more simple and less feature-heavy than singleplayer) has probably been sitting mostly idle for months by now (maybe some minor tweaks and balance changes, or maybe changes to the official matchmaking system). But once again the lack of any definitive information means I'm speculating pointlessly.
