We wanted to be more available, open, and transparent, and as part of that new approach to our communication, we started these weekly updates to give you a sneak peek of what we are currently doing in the development of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, introduce you to the team that is making the game and tell you about our future plans and intentions…

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/71

So if we have already waited for 10+ years, what will another couple hurt (unless you're on your deathbed ...)?
In my case it would because in 2 years time i will be at university which means i will have 0 time to play and im a bit afraid that TW will release the game at that time

I’m about to go into my fourth year of university. Let me tell you, you’ll have time to play and get good grades. Just need to get that good balance.

depends. If all you do is to go to class then you should have hours to play every day. If you also study after classes, and if you work... forget games unless you play some mobile on the bus or a 30min FPS game at night

If we wait 10+ years for Bannerlord, we get bored when game is released or maybe as Taleworlds wish greatest game ever full of real emotion for players?

There are so many different viewpoints on it. I feel like I'm on the B side of the cassette, I just hope the development of Bannerlord is there too and my tape will last longer.

But didn't you get the special edition box set with three extra tapes? You've got plenty of time!

Looking at my shelf and counting the special edition boxes there, I highly doubt it.

Well in the UK a lot of students do work alongside their education, so yes they have it tough. As for Uni work on its own, there is enough time to relax and work enough to get the top grades.

Great Post and congrats to Tale Worlds on all the work you're doing! We look forward to the game and you have a solid fan base patiently awaiting it arrival. Great work and keep it up!

That said, lets try not have a 2 year recap.  (You know its true!)

I know it's probably just me being optimistic but I think and hope that Bannerlord will be released in 2019, apparently there will be a demo at games con for fans to play, suggesting it's at a point that it just needs some polish and a few models.

Like I said, it's probably just me being optimistic and probably not true.

Optimistic? I'm hoping for 2018 here!

Don't worry, I know how deluded I am.

Hey man, I'm doing full-time online school at SNHU in Computer Science, and work part-time as a janitor. I've got time to do all of it, plus my main pass time: read.

The worst part is the lack of definitive information, which is what I whinge about so much. We've been seeing entirely playable footage for two years now, so a beta or early access announcement could come at literally any moment, which is what I'm banking on for Gamescom (we've been told to not expect a release date, but whatever the syntax interpretation we have there I won't go into). If we take that statement at face value it doesn't preclude the possibility for other access to the game, but I'm pretty sure we're all deluded at this point.

I'm still pulling for a release date by the end of 2017, so there's that.

I still think that open-ended syntax about Gamescon was intentionally left there in case Armagan randomly decides that it's ready the day before Gamescon, and they have to change the whole thing. What's important to remember is we've seen seige gameplay from a pre-set battle, a little glimpse into the overworld map and SP gameplay within a set situation (they knew where the enemy lord was, where they started, etc.), and the Captain mode gameplay from last year. While all these looked good and finished and polished, it wouldn't have been hard to set them up as little snippets without the rest of the game actually being there. It didn't matter in the SP gameplay whether the economy system was actually set up or not, because they were showing off the battle and the new stuff to do in town mostly, for example

Yeah. I never said the game was finished or polished in those videos we saw, only that years ago the core elements of the game seemed to function to a sufficient level to classify it as "playable", which even if I was wrong (probably the case) means that years later it's definitely at the point where it functions. Enough for a beta or some other pre-release sometime in the next few months. Or at the very least the "problems" talked about in 2016 (I think?) about sync issues within Multiplayer debris and other such features simply had to have been fixed or changed in that time period, which given that most of the things we've been hearing about in dev blogs and other such official information probably means that Multiplayer (which in terms of mechanics is far more simple and less feature-heavy than singleplayer) has probably been sitting mostly idle for months by now (maybe some minor tweaks and balance changes, or maybe changes to the official matchmaking system). But once again the lack of any definitive information means I'm speculating pointlessly.

Fair enough, can't argue there. It seems to me, from what we've heard people are doing lately, i.e. clothing civilians, that what's mostly left is the "decoration" phase, and TW's is just creating the most diverse, beautiful game world in the history of games. Or at least a pretty decent one. Of course, it could also be that there just wasn't anything else for these guys to do, so lead dev said, "Go make some pretty clothes".

Hope we will have some amazing footage from gamescom this year and may be the closed beta test. I would still wait for bannerlord even if it won`t be out in the end of 2018. Nice blog.
