Yes, we will be attending Gamescom in Cologne, Germany this August (no surprise there, eh!).

[/parsehtml]Read more at: http://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Bannerlord/Blog/108

I love the news. I guess that means the game is becoming more and more stable. And while everbody is unhappy that the game won´t release this year, there is no evidence for that. I think Bannerlord is very niche, but has a strong fanbase. If they said they would release the game coming monday, we all would jump to buy it. I think Taleworlds is not as dependant on those big event as other, bigger publishers. I do not expect Bannerlord before Gamescome, but I also would not be surpirsed if it would not realise this year at all. We don´t know, and we can´t know. Maybe even the devs haven´t decided yet. That said, I am eager to play it and dream of a timely release  . But I suppose good things need time. We can all wait for the beta and even though there is no release date for that either, I have a strong feeling that we get it this year.

Sadly i won´t be able to afford Gamescom even though I live in Germany... I have been to Gamescom once and it is a crowded hellhole of sweat and exhaustion  . I feel a little bit sorry for the guys of Taleworlds who will have to work there for a week, I suppose it will be even harder for them than for the normal visitors. But of course it´s also fun.

I think the chance for 2019 release deteriorated greatly with this.

If beta is going to happen after the 8th month of the year then even if they make it in the 9th month, 3 months are not enough to release the game.

I mean why would they release it just 3 months after they give beta ?

I must agree with you. 2019 release is getting very unlikely.
I dare to say that we're nowhere near from getting a release date this year.

I agree 2019 seems unlikely, but this is definitely good news that they feel confident enough to let anyone play it this year. I'd say we're looking at 2020/ very early 2021 at the latest, assuming gamescom/beta go smoothly.

Whoop! Several years of tediously monitoring these blogs have paid off with the promise of a beta coming soon!

Now lets see that early access page on Steam!

Do we know if there will be access to modding tools with the beta release? I'm not much into modding myself but it's one of the aspects of this franchise I plan on exploiting extensively!

(I should add that I've always appreciated the Dev blogs. Hence my dedication to them )

Yay! A date. Even if it’s for public playing for the first time this is good news. Just keep on keeping on TaleWorlds. I’ll be here waiting when your ready to let me play it.

Just an indea, since game is in 'polishing' phase, sharing some information to modders in pre-beta and after that would enchance top mods.
do you mean privately contacting known modders or just release information specified for modders in public for everyone to see?

Why no singleplayer?? Even bandit battle is fun to look at, but you guys focus on multiplayer? Why???

As he said there’s single player footage at the separate business booth or whatever it’s called.

Two questions, after everything’s released and done, do you guys have a roadmap in place for future dlc/expansion packs, or are you going to be relying on/expecting modders to give us module variation? The second is how often do you expect to patch and update the game, after initial bugs are ironed out of course?

Plus, we had a single player demo last year, plus it seems they want to tie gamescom into the multiplayer beta somehow (guess based on callum's wording).

I don't play MP almost at all, but it is a big portion of the game that they want to push, especially since they developed new game types they want to showcase.

Will beta testers have tools to report bugs directly to TW or will they utilize the forums/another means of communication?

We want to make it as easy as possible for players to communicate with us so we are looking to open up as many channels of communication as we can, including the ones you mentioned.
Can I be selected if I'm in south America or it will be too much of a deal?

This is great news! I can't afford to fly out and come see the event and play the game, but I am eager to hear more things about that Beta! I'll certainly be scouring YouTube around the time of Gamescom to see people's footage and experience of gameplay.

I'm glad you guys are at least giving some information up front that Bannerlord will be playable at Gamescom for those debating on whether or not to attend. You're really the only reason I would even consider travelling.

Just please don't pull an "Activision-Blizzard", and announce Bannerlord is actually a mobile game developed by a Chinese company that already developed a knockoff of your previous title, and will probably be chock-full of microtransactions. As long as you DON'T do that, everything will be butter smooth!

Traveling to gamescom to play the bannerlord beta or using the money for a new pc? :???:

During gamescom will only Skirmish mode be available or will there be other multiplayer game modes?

Isn't that in almost 4 months?
If you guys are so serious about Gamescom this early, that can only mean a release date announcement there and then.
imagine being this deluded

  recruits calling old heads out on being deluded.

In all honesty, I kind of echo Rodrigo's feeling here (although I'm not convinced well get a date as much as an idea, but it's progress).

Basically, having been here for the '16 and '17 debacles, the fact that they're being this open can only be good news.

Ah this is so exciting, while I cannot make it myself I am really excited to see all of the videos to come out of this! Keep up the great work team
