Apparently some people didn't like the addition of camels but I think its a cool feature. Also it would not make sense to have a desert faction and not have camels.

Who is saying this?

A few people in the previous blog thread. Someone posted the details of this blog over in the old thread for some reason, and apparently it caught the eye of many players who are, at best, disinterested in camels. Unlike me, who is as happy as Humphrey himself that he is going to be in the game.
It was me who posted it. I did the same last week as well. Mainly because the new thread was not up yet. Then I deleted my posts as soon as the new thread was up.

Oh right, I hadn't noticed it was you. I was ranting about your post and the people who commented on it in that other thread, sorry! My qualm with it is that it can set off an extended discussion in the old thread (as it did today), which in turn puts that thread at the top of the board and the discussion about the new blog gets separated.

I don't care about camels one way or the other, but since you implemented them, does that mean that we have different horse breeds as well? Will Vlandians have the biggest horses in the game and the Khuzait ride ponies and so on? Personally I would not like elephants, they would be to unbalanced and op.
Sturgians are able to fight better near their homes, but get rekt when they're in enemy territory
Why tf would Sturgians get rekt in enemy territory? Are you saying all factions should be weak in enemy territory or only Sturgians? If you only talk about Sturgians then in my opinion thats a very bad idea cause it will make the faction weak af and nobody will use it, if however what you're trying to say is that every faction should have a bonus in their own land that's not a bad idea. But I don't agree that Sturgians should get rekt in enemy territory.

This guy should hold the reins and maybe it's something you can do about the clipping sword? And any clipping in general, I would hate to not be able to have a big beard or long hair because it's clipping through the helmet.

Many clipping in many things we can see but they probably polish this after release: its non game breaking ! But i agree with you !

Can cataphract carry their kontos lances in this way?

Never saw this blog coming, it's a very nice surprise.

But I have to criticize their work: that camel toe doesn't look like a proper camel toe!!

I think the question was more general. In the medieval times, with the exceptions of nomads who had their own disadvantages, Any army would fare poorly if far from home. Especially if it was badly or not supplied and had to live of the countryside (read: pillage for food). Creating supply lines in medieval times was difficult at best and morale deteriorates the longer and the further the army is away. Generally people fight harder to defend their own homes than to take a castle from a random baron for a random baron that just so happened to levy you but really doesn't care and will probably discard you and the army as soon as he's in power.

I'm not sure if Sturgians would be especially hampered because I don't know much about Russia.

People, wouldnt a 2 or 3 minutes of a gameplay video be nicer ?
You know they could just create a custom battle in one of their desert maps and create a battle between Aserai and desert bandits or maybe a battle between Aserai camelry and Imperial Cataphracts.

I see the point in the video they shared with us, they are showing us how strong the modding capacity in the game will be, allowing us to create any kind of skeletons for fantastical beings or other animals in mods but not everyone is a modder(myself included) so it would be nice if they could just share a 3 minutes long gameplay video about camels in addition to their sculpturing video.

EDIT: I think they created different kind of birds with this tool as well.

This is a great addition to the game. I cannot wait to try riding a camel that actually looks like a camel (unlike in every Warband mod).

Personally, I hope for other animals - mounts and otherwise.

Since hunting was a big part of the life of nobility in the Middle Ages (and beyond) I think it should be implemented into the game as well. Something like being asked by your liege lord/king to go on a hunt with him. If you are good at it - and he likes you - he will be impressed and your standing will increase with him. If, on the other hand, you are good at hunting, and he is a jealous type, you may actually decrease your standing. There are many options here for making hunting meaningful. Proper game/deer AI is warranted as well, however, if this is going to work.

- Elephants would be amazing as well as mounts, as long as they are extremely rare and work more as a "trophy" kind of unit than anything you make up an entire army with. Also they should be extremely expensive to maintain (which they were).

I mean for me, camel is a very tasty suprise I cant understand why did most of the people said ''meh''.

I can't speak for others, but for me camel is "meh" because it is basically fluff. Let's face it. Whether we have camels or not will not make or break Bannerlord.

Yes, it is cool to have more diversity. It is even better, that modders will be able to create more interesting things with it. However, camels will be cool first few times player will encounter them, but novelty will wear off pretty fast.

I would love to see more work done in areas, that affect every player in every game all the time. Better sieges, better lord interaction, better formation fighting, better fighting physics in general, branching QUESTS, more advanced politics and diplomacy mechanics...

And camels? Yeah, cool thingies. But they hardly reignite my hype.

The success of Islamic armies in conquering north africa relied on their camels. Everyone and everything was either horse (20% max) or camel mounted for mobility. They had no supply lines through the desert which enemies could cut - everything they needed was carried by pack camels. Without lumbering oxen and carts these armies could travel over almost any terrain. The supply defficiencies of Western armies aren’t universally applicable.

I prefer the two-hump war camel for extra couched damage

If couched lance damage is implemented for camels, I’d like the option to turn it off.

Maybe they can release this gameplay https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=180&v=SUPDGiPBflU min: 3:07

It would be great if they can add more animations for our troops. So the battles could feel more immersive
