I cant move icons on my deskopt (+cant move them to folders etc.) - pretty simple description, but i dont know what else to say. Maybe if someone ever experienced it and solved it (except completely reinstalling windows, which i dont want to do). Only way i can move them is through copying them to desired location and deleting the old ones.

Since its not MB related problem i posted it here instead of technical support forum..

Have you scanned for viruses? Spyware? If you could press ctrl alt del and take a pic and show me,I'll let you know if any Processes thats running seem suspect.

Check the Desktop folder hasn't been set to read only if it's not letting you change anything. If it is letting you move them, but not letting you move them to folders then it might just be your Windows settings (you can configure it to do all kinds when you copy&past, except copy and ****ing paste). If all else fails, run a thorough virus/malware scan.

Oh, and if you're getting an error message when trying to move them it might help.

So it appears that system doesnt allow me to change that read only status in deskopt folder. When i do its set back to read only, probably kind of spyware or i am even bigger PC noob than i have actually expected..

screen of my processes http://img181.imageshack.us/my.php?image=beznzvupl5.jpg, quite bad quality (unintentionally), but i hope you will be able to read it.

Do you do disk checks regularly? My brother's computer had the same problem until we hired a professional who explained the importance of a disk check; our computer used to automatically shut down programs every 15 minutes.

Well from your processes I dont really see anything suspect, But I do notice your running an anti-virus.Have you tried to scan with it yet?

Do you have administrator priveleges on your user account?

Admin rights would be a good thing to check, although they shouldn't be the issue. Each user has their own Desktop folder in their documents & settings directory.

Having it revert back to read only after setting it differently is generally a sign that there is a permissions issue there though. Assuming that's XP then one thing to check (particularly if it's an OEM box) is the registry. Open regedit and look at the account permissions (IIRC it's in a box in the top left hand corner, just highlight the root hive to access it). You should have (if you're logged in as administrator) full permissions (all boxes checked). Dell and the like have a habit of giving the admin account limited privileges yet allowing the system account (i.e. Windows itself) full permissions

sure i have admin account.

Its solved.. Cracked scroll wheel...  (which constantly act as it would be pressed)
According to forums it could be caused either by worm or this mouse problem (excluding few uncommon causes)
