I've played over 1000 days on several different characters and I finally got around to buying a pavise today. I watched a video yesterday of the deployable shield and I tried it today.
F'ing awesome!
Now if I can figure out how to pick it back up. The video seems to show him picking the shield back up but I can't figure that out. I'll do a search.
And entrenching! Well most of the fortifications are pretty good. Not so good in the desert. Does availability of trees matter? I'll try it around some palms next time.
Otherwise it seems to be a great way to take on a lot of enemies all at once. But it is a little boring. The enemies seem to trickle in and never pose much threat unless they are mounted. I really only had trouble with the Desert Bandits. Everyone else was destroyed easily.
There are so many things in this mod. I may never figure them all out.
